There were excellent entries on the net of how to diagnose problem. Parts Select website had an excellent video on how to change part. Just followed instructions and changed parts in about 15 minutes. I am usually a klutz, but this was so easy

Removed the six screws holding the bottom access plate found at the rear of the refrigerator. This gives you easy access to the run capacitor that has a retaining clip. Remove the wire clip and pull out the capacitor (it has two quick disconnect terminals). Reverse the process using the new run capacitor to complete the repair.

I removed the old icemaker and tore it apart as much as I could to see if I could see anything obvious. I also took a resistance reading on the heating coil in the bottom of the icemaker. It was good. I then hooked the old icemaker back up with the end cover off. The plastic wheel on the end of the ice maker did not move. I then ordered a new ice maker, installed it and it has worked perfectly ever since.

This is an easy fix, simply remove and replace. What I was impressed with is that a how to video was provided along with my part. I wish all manufactures would offer this, the video was easy to understand and you had a good view of the operation. Thanks, a job well done.

Sorry for delay in writing. Part I ordered arrived two days ago and it was exactly what I needed. Knowing that there will be problems even with the smallest job I procrastinated starting. When I did start this morning I foud I had to completely remove the ice maker and disassemble it in order to install the water fill cup bracket. The challenge was reassembling the unit. Not hard for an experienced repairman but a challenge for layman. Everything is thing is back to gether now and power on cooling down the refrigerator. Won't know how successful it was until turn on water and ice is formed. If it works this saved $75 just to get a Sears repairman to come out and tell me what would be needed to fix the refrigerator and $1,000 if I had to buy a new refrigerator. Extremely satisfied with service I received. Thank you.

Greatest thing about this company was properly describing in an easy clear manner along with the video. A picture is worth a thousand words. A video is worth? Disconnecting wires in back of freezer was a little hard. I didn't know you would have to wait for a complete cycle before the water would fill and make the first batch of ice. I thought it was not hooked up properly and took it back apart. This time I left it, waited and in a few hours, it started making the first batch of ice. Great company, price and fast shipping. Unscrewed the rear water valve and water line, and front water filter which allowed me to remove the old drip tray. New drip tray is smaller than the original tray, so I needed to put blocking in to keep tray under drip spout. Refastened the water filter, water valve and water line.

Took out the old filter and put in the new one that I received from you which seemed liked almost immediately after waiting three months to get the filter from Whirlpool. I will from now on order all filters from your company because the lady that took my order was very courteous and told me exactly when to expect the part. Love doing business that way.

Followed the video supplied with shipment info from parts select. Simile and a great way to help the diy person. I will reyurn as a customer as well as pass the word. Thanks jhg

With the new Ice Guide all I had to do was a use a small screw driver to help guide the tabs into place and I was finished!

This is for the refrigerator, not the freezer door which is more complicated. First empty the refrigerator door of food and removed the shelves. Remove the hinge cover on the top hinge by removing one bolt. Then, holding the door, remove the top hinge by removing the three bolts in the bracket (not the bolt in the recessed hole). Lift the door off the lower hinge and lay the door on its edge on the floor. Pry the old Door Cam out of the hole in the door with a knife (my Door Cam was ground completely flat). Insert the new Door Cam. Remove the old Lower Door Cam from the lower hinge and insert the new Lower Door Cam. Pick up the door and lower the door onto the lower hinge ensuring the lower hinge pin inserts into the hole in the Door Cam on the door. Reinstall the upper hinge and insert bolts without tightening. Align door and then tighten hinge bolts. Reattach top hinge cover and tighten the single bolt. Test the door to ensure it closes and stays closed. I had to remove the door a second time to rotate the Door Cam slightly to ensure cams were better engaged (tongue in groove style) when the door was closed. Reinstall the shelves and load the door with food.

Removed (snap on)removed screw, and ice dispencer side (door and Pin) You have to assemble to reinstall (not easy to install while assembled) Install the pivot pin the rest of the way with the new spring mounted and when unit is almost in place, install the pivot the rest of the way, install tension hold downs that old both the water and ice dispenser shafts, reinstall cover, reconnect wiring and test, I had to remove the plunger because the water wouldn't shut off fast enough. Unit works great now.
