It took more than 2 hours to do this extremely delicate surgical type procedure! First I had to run to buy beer and chips to make sure I had all the necessary supplies needed. I opened a beer and surveyed the job.I carefully removed the crappy old waveguide cover, and had another beer while opening the package of the new waveguide cover.
... Read moreI then installed the new waveguide and proceed to have a few more beers while I admired my work and the awesome new waveguide from Part-Select. Later I put it to the test and heated up some left over buffalo wings, had a couple more beers and went to bed a happy man with the piece of mind that my new waveguide was up for the job!! Thanks Part-Select!
Unplug. Remove hood. Ground capacitor. Photograph wiring. Remove magnetron. (2 wires, 4 screws). Replace and reassemble. Dispose of old unit. If you are ordering parts and are not into testing circuits order a new diode and difuser card as well. Replace all three.
Just take out the appliance from built in frame, if any, remove the glass turn table, disassemble the metal cover (no-tamper screws were a problem), flip it over, unscrew one screw from the motor, unplug the wires (keep track of the connections), install the new motor and wires, reaassemble with regular screws, and reinstall. No big deal.
