Door latch would not release
We removed all the screws (hex head) around the inside door. Removed the latch assembly, and unhooked the two switches. (turn off curcuit breaker first!)

found the serial # and model # on the side of the door and searched partselect for the part. very easy website, ordered and recieved in just a few days.

We replaced the part, plugged it back in, and screwed the door back together. turned on the curcuit breaker and it works again.

The part is plastic, and think it cracked from letting the door shut hard on its own.. instead of closing softly.

good luck with your repairs.

The latch broke and it was hard to get into the dishwasher.
I first opened my dishwasher by removing the 11 nut screws and took the part out. The website had a nice video to watch to see the process on how to replace this part. After getting the part out by just unplugging the part from the wires, I went to your website and ordered the part. The pictures helped me see the exact part that I needed to ordered. I am a visual person, so this was very helpful.
It only took 3 days for the part to arrive and then I replaced the part within 15 minutes by the instruction from the video that I watched earlier. If I would had to call a repair person, it would have cost me over $80. This part including shipping was under $35. Thank you.

Door would not close - latch broken
1. Turned off power. 2. Unscrewed ten screws holding inside of door in place. 3. Lifted cover enough to access latch - helpful to have someone to hold this while doing the job. 4. Disconnected old latch assembly on each side - this was the hardest part as they were stiff and needed to be pulled hard. 5. Attached new latch assembly. 6. Screwed door panel back on. 7. Switched power back on. So easy and saved about $150. This stuff is NOT HARD and I just wish more people had the gumption to do repairs themselves instead of paying 'experts' to do exactly the same job.

Our handle/latch assembly broke on our Amana Dishwasher
PartSelect.com was a life saver!! We have a 5+ year old dishwasher and it was slammed shut too hard and the latch/handle assembly broke. I was worried sick that I wasn't going to be able to find a replacement for such an old washer and that I was going to have to buy a new one. PartSelect made it easy to find the exact assembly I needed and it was here in a couple days!! Great website and service!!

The latch broke, and you couldn't open the dishwasher.
First - I selected 2-3 day delivery after ordering the part late afternoon. The part arrived the next day. Very satisfied with the time it took and the ease in selecting the correct part. Once I got the dishwasher door open, I removed the 11 screws from the door panel. The top two screws also hold the latch asssembly in place, so I removed those last. Then I detached the wiring, which required a pair of plyers - they were very tight. After that, I was able to replace the new part, screw the panel back on, and load the dishwasher for my wife before she got off the phone with my mother-in-law. Brownie points were awarded, and it took about 15 minutes.

Door latch broke
Shut off braker to dishwasher. Took inside door panel off along with door latch. Pulled circuits off of old door latch. Plugged circuits into new door latch and reattached door panel. Done. Took about 20 mins to complete. We did watch a 2 min repair video on line and that really helped to guide us. Easy repair. Sure beats having to pay someone $100 or more to come in and do it. The only cost was for the part. It was here 2 days after we ordered it online.

The door release lever broke inside the door.
I removed the inner panel on the door by taking out 10 torx head screws and moved it aside without removing any wires. The handle switch assembly was held in place by two of the screws so it was already loose. I slid the connectors (2) off the switch and replaced it with the new one. I moved the switch back in place and put the cover back on with the screws, closed the door and it was fixed!

latch Handle was inoperative
I took off the door panel by removing the 8 torx head screws. The two electrical plug on t=each side of the handle were very tight. I used a non-metalic pry bar to remove them. Attached the new handle , installed the screw and started up the dishwasher. The kids were very pleased that the handle was received in only two days.

Probably from hanging on a tall item as the upper rack was pulled out. One of the retaining tabs was broken and the rotating arm would not stay in place.

Latch was broken and dishwasher would not open
I first shut of the breaker, since I would be working with the wiring. After gently prying the door open, I unscrewed the plastic panel from the inside of the door. The cracked parts of the latch were very obvious. That assembly also came loose with the panel mounting screws. It was easier to pry the switches from the old latch assembly than to unplug the wires from the old switch and, since they were still in good working order, I install them on the new assembly. I then replaced the screws and finished the job.

Unit would not turn on.
After checking the door switch I found the micro switches were working but the unit would not start on the control panel. Thinking the latch was worn, I ordered a replacement. After changing the replacement latch and switches that came with it, the unit would still not start. I checked the switch and it is making contact. I can start the unit after I close the door using the handle of a pair of pliers. So I assume the control board is bad, due to the fact that it will not initialize the control panel until the door is closed. Now I have ordered a control board and will replace...stay tuned!!
