We taped the door with 3 pieces of duct tape, then put boards under it. Used socket set to remove cam and then cut off rivet so we could just use a screw to keep in place. . . Just for your information, I ordered 2 cams, and was glad I did as I need 2 to make the repair. . . Didn't read about this online or on order recommendation. The cams go 1 up and 1 down thanks for the installation repair stories, it inspired us to "do it ourselves " and we saved about $75 to $100. 00

Tried to switch the freezer door stop to the fridge door, but had already done that the last time the fridge door stop broke (the 2 stops are the same, but the fridge door uses the right end of the stop, while the freezer door uses the left end, so if you have a good freezer door stop and a broken fridge door stop you can switch them and you are in business). Not this time, so i had to put in a new door stop, piece of cake to install, take the bottom grille off, two screws hold the stop on, might as well clean the fur under the grille while you are at it.

I removed the fan the night before the delivery of the new fan and used a small desk fan to cool the compressor. It worked fine in one half hour my freezer read a perfect zero. Plastic cams broken

  • Tools Required: Nutdriver, Socket set

Removed door and replaced cams & pin braket (needed to add a mounting hole to bracket so it would fit my refrigerator). Think this specific request relates to my first order for the door closer cam only. I had to place an additional order for a cam set/pin braket since both plastic cams were broken. I didn't return the first single cam ordered since shipping would have been too expensive and besides that,if I keep the extra cam the closer will never break again...

Ther was a video on how to repalce this part on your web site. Describing what tools were needed saved me running back and forth to my tool box. I followed the directions given in the video and repair was completed in 1/2 hour. That included meremoving then cleaning and replacing the sheves in the door. And by the way, the part was shipped the same day I ordered it and arrived on my doorstep noon the following day.
