Dryer only heats when control knob is opposite of the side we normally use,will not heat on settings we use mostly.

Hello David, Thank you for the question. This sounds like an issue with the Timer. I suggest testing with a multi meter to check for continuity. PartSelect Number PS11749831. Hope this helps!
