B9757X1 Roper Wall Oven - Instructions

Two screws remove the front of the sensor (put a pan under the sensor to catch the screws), One nut removes the rear cover to access the rear of the sensor. Separating the two halves of wiring harness takes a little dexterity. BIG TIP! Tie a string to the back of the sensor wire and pull the sensor out from the front making sure the string still shows thru the back. If you don't you have a 15 minute job trying to fish the wires at an angle thru the insulation (a very frustrating task). Untie the string from the old and tie it securely to the new. Pull the string from the back and Voila! your new sensor can be plugged in or wirer nutted to the old connection on the back of the stove. Replace the nut and the two screws and you're done!

Turned off power to range because I was scared. Unscrewed broiler element, pulled part forward and pulled off wires that were attached to the back, attached wires to new element, pushed it back in place, screwed it back on to oven. Cooked my bruchette!

First I removed the ovem door, then I removed the 4 screws, unplugged element and plugged in the new one, then replace the screws and door. It should have been a 10 min job but I'm old and a bit fat...slowed me down.

1. Move oven out from wall 2. Remove back panel of oven, 8 screws 3. Remove 3 screws inside oven holding element 4. Pulled wire connections off of element 5. Reverse procedure to install new element

I must compliment PartSelect on their quick responce and delivery of the item ordered. It arrived a day after I had ordered it. Trust me, the $40.00 I spent on the item was way cheaper than having a repair service fix it or having the entire oven replaced. I would highly recomend anyone to utilize PartSelect.

SUPER EASY! The part arrived very quickly. I turned off the circuit breaker, unscrewed the few nuts, pulled out the element and reversed the process. 'works beautifully! Thanks so much.

The broiler unit had disintegrated at both connections. I removed the two screws in the top of the oven holder the unit, pulled out the unit, measured and ordered a replacement.

To replace the element, I pulled out the stove, removed the rear panel, located the connections for the broiler unit, remove parts of the old unit. I then attached the new unit to the top of the oven with the two screws, went around back and pushed in the two connections, replaced the back cover and replace the stove. It took about 30 minutes because I cleaned everything and sprayed bug spay (another plus for doing the repair myself).

Turned off electrical breaker.
Removed original screws from old defective element and slipped in new replacement element.
Perfect fit!

turn off electric breaker, unscrew the 2 screws unplug the 2 ends replace old element with new repeat previous steps but unfortunately the control panel was also failing and that item has been discontinued.

Removed the back access panel of the stove. Removed 2 screws holding the temp sensor, replaced temp sensor, Installed back panel. Done 19 minutes.

That should have been an easy repair according to previous responders that replaced this part.

The first issue is the Phillips head screw that fastens the sensor to the back of the oven was frozen and I had to drill it out.

The second issue was I could not pull the connector through the hole where the sensor wires pass. I decided to cut the sensor wires and use wire connectors to attach the sensor as instructed in the sheet provided with the sensor.

NOTE: You MUST use third party "gray" colored wire connectors that you can purchase in a hardware store. - the connectors provided DO NOT have a metal insert and even after several attempts would not grab the wires.

Another caution is you should use a self-tapping sheet metal screw to fasten the sensor to the oven wall if you encounter the same frozen screw that I did!

After I installed the sensor I tested the oven but found that this DID NOT solve the problem! I needed to order the "hidden" bake element that is mounted under the bottom oven wall and also the broil/bake element that is mounted inside of the oven on the top. I did the repair following your instructions and it went very well. Now the temperature is working good , but the oven is heating up very slow. So now what should I do to fix the oven?

Fast shipping and the part was very easily installed.

First removed the oven door for easy access, removed two screws holding the element pulled old Element from back of oven to expose two connecting wires, disconnected wires and removed old Element. Connected wires to new Element pushed Element back into place and replaced two mounting screws put oven door back on, took about ten minutes. Very Easy!
