Ice maker tray in side by side leaked and created large lumps of ice
Unplug refrigerator, turned off water to ice maker, unscrewed bracket, lifted ice maker off clips, pulled out water hose, disconected wiring harness and lifted out old icemaker. Reversed the process and it worked like a breeze and no service call. Space is very tight and you have to do a lot of feeling without actually seeing what you're doing and you need a small flashlight. It was so easy with diagram provided on PartSelect's website.

Stopped making ice, leaking water into freezer to kitchen floor!
Found PartsSelect on internet. Read data, watched remove/replace video, ordered new Ice Marker. Arrived in 11/2 days-quick. Both removel and install very easy; three easy to remove screws, disconnect wire harness pull it out. However, water cup on end of the new Ice Maker was faceing 90 degrees the wrong way! Had to totally disassemble both new and old Ice Makers to swap water cups. Reassemble, pray it was done correctly and install. New Ice Maker works like a champ and no leaking--Thanks PartsSelect.

My refrigerator light did not work.
After years of using a flash light to check the contents of my refrigerator, I decided to try to fix the problem myself. Replacing the light switch was very easy. The directions were straight forward and I'm sorry I waited so long to tackle the problem.

changing the water/ice filter
Opened up the compartment where the old filter was located, twisted it to take it out (be careful not to spill water in the filter!), and installed the new one. Even a 64 year old woman had no trouble!

Refrigerator not shutting off, liquids freezing in fridge
It wasn't quite as easy to get to the bolts as the video showed. The lay out of the part wasn't exactly like the video either. However, I managed to put the new part in. Unfortunately, it didn't solve the problem. At first the fridge cycled on and off but after 12 hrs it started to freeze liquids again. Since the appliance was 17 years old we opted to just get a new one.

Ice Maker Failure
I first repalced the ice maker (Parts Select) and the unit still did not produce ice. Then following a U-tube video I tested the resistance on the water valve with a multimeter. It failed. Ordered a replacement water valve from Parts Select. Received part 2 days later. It took 15 minutes to remove and replace failed valve. Ice maker operates perfectly after repair.

Ice maker was leaking water and freezing the ice in the trray
I unplugged the refrigerator. Then removed the ice tray. Then removed the screw holding the ice maker secure. I had a little difficulty lifting the ice maker off the clips on the side of the refrigerator but was successful. Then unplugged the wire harness from the back of the refrigerator an lifted the unit out. Removed the wiring harness from the old unit and installed it on the new one. Then positioned the new unit so I could plug the harness in the refrigerator and lined up the clips to attach it on the side of the refrigerator, being careful to line up the water distribution tube. Replaced the screw to secure the ice maker and plugged the refrigerator back in and it is working very well. I am very hsappy with the repair

Ice maker leaking water into ice bin after dumping ice and refilling
I attempted to do the repair as cheap as possible and did not think the problem through completely before ordering the water source value kit.since it was the cheaper of the two parts that could be causing the problem. What I missed was the fact that when the bail is raised to turn the ice maker it also turn the water off and it was not leaking so I should have recognized that the value was probably not the problem. So I ordered the ice maker and it arrived in one day as did the value and I was back in business of making ice chunks and not ice blocks! :) PartSelect has a wonderful turn around on shipping parts and great customer service folks to converse with!

The icemaker was leaking into the ice hopper creating an iceberg.
After receiving the new ice maker assembly I placed the new part next to the old one to see what I needed to transfer from the old to the new. After removing the wiring harness and a few small parts, I placed them on the new assembly. After that it was a snap which timewise took about 15 minutes. I am pleased to say the ice hopper is full and being replenished very efficiently.
