AFI2538AES Refrigerator - Instructions

Took off (by removing sockets)each side of existing pantry end caps and put new ones on Should have taken picture of the right side as it was a little problem getting everything back together. Paid $200.50 to have it done the first time it broke. Basically saved $200 doing it ourselves.

Same way I repaired it before.

I removed the upper crisper drawers. I then removed the bottom crisper drawer. I then removed plate glass covering that covered the bottom crisper drawer. I removed the plate glass frame in order to be able to get to the 3 screws holding right hand rail. I removed the 3 screws with nut driver to remove rail. I detached the humidity control linkage and linkage cover from right hand rail. I reinstall every thing in reverse of how I had just taken things apart when installing new right hand rail. There was a lot of good information on how to replace rails that came with rail order. also there was a lot of good information on iste where part was ordered from. THANKS

My husband and I purchased a used refrigerator from a friend who is moving into a new home. Some interior parts were missing but it was very easy to find replacement parts from Parts Select. Everything arrived in good shape and shipping was really quick. The refrigerator is now as good as new.

My husband removed the crisper storage drawers and the shelf then removed the pantry drawer. The broken end cap was very easy to remove, just remove two screws and the new one was installed. Simple and my husband really enjoyed saving $2400! That was what a new one would have cost if he could not have replaced the part!

remove drawers , shelf, and end cap. be careful to look at crisper control mechinism. 2 screws attach end cap to refrigerator.remove all atachments from old end cap and re install on new end cap.re install into refrigerator.

When the new part arrived we snapped on the new one. Just make sure the draw is closed all the way before closing the refrigerator doors, that's is how mine got broke.

removed pantry drawer ,glass top, and the 2 crisper drawers. Removed 3 screws , removed broken one. Removed temperature slide and placed it on to new one. Screwed new one in! Easy Peasy!

Begin by removing, in order: crisper drawers, glass shelf above pantry area, and pantry flip door (which rotates on the pins connected to the pantry end caps). Then remove LH end cap using 1/4" nut driver or socket. End cap is held in place with 3 screws. Once removed, use phillips screwdriver to remove steel slide rail from old pantry end cap and install on replacement end cap. Reinstall all parts in reverse order.

I had to disasemble the crispers and remove the runners and side panel. I needed a screwdriver and wrench set (metric). Once I found the correct socket, everythig went very smooth. My husband was amazed that I could make the repair by myself. I probably saved $200!! The part fit perfect and it was alos very good quality. Thanks

Removed old pantry end and installed new. Was easy.

For the filter.....lefty loosey righty tighty...just that easy. For the right side pantry end cap.....removed the pantry,veggie and fruit draws..lifted out the glass shelve with it's end guides... Two screws to remove the track. another 3 screws to removes the end cap....pulled the temp control attached to the rear out with the cap. Disconnect the temp control lever .......reverse the process and your home free.

Removed the pantry, fruit and vegetable bins, and bottom glass shelf.(Pantry's glass door had previously been removed due to broken hinge pin.) Using nut driver, removed old pantry end cap by loosening two screws. Removed sliding tracks from old endcap, installed on new endcap. Installed new pantry end cap. Cleaned bottom of fridge, then cleaned and reinstalled veg bins and pantry. Installed pantry glass door. Fit perfectly and works as good as new. Wife is happy now.
