Noise from dryer in spin cycle,
Found noise to be belt slapping the base sheet metal, from being too loose. Belt was loose because the drive pulley was worn and one side of pulley was loose! Used allen wrench to loosen the pulley set screw, and pryed off the old pulley. Replace d with new pulley and new belts. Works and sounds like new!

The water didn't pump out during the spin cycle
I took out the two screws in the bottom front panel of the washer, and rotated the front panel from the bottom away from the machine until the top or the panel was released from the machine frame. I then tilted the washer back to get access to the bottom of the machine. The pump pulley had split in half, and the bottom half fell off the drive motor shaft. The only problem I had was breaking free the set screw that holds the pulley to the drive motor shaft. I used a long arm Allen wrench and an adjustable "Cresent" wrench to apply enough force to break the set screw loose. Iclamped the upper transmission belts tightly to keep the motor shaft from turning while I loosened the set screw.

Hi Oscar, Thank you for your question. If you are getting a burning smell from your washer, you will need to check both the belt and the pulley to see which part is causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

What i assume is a clutch pulley on the very bottom of the motor shaft that drives the pump has worn out and fallen off. I need the part number so i can order a new one. Again this pulls drives the belt to the pump.

Motor making a buzzing sound, all the pullies seem to move freely. The belts seem to be in good shape, but when the machine is suppose to spin it does not nor does it drain water. I checked for hoses being plugged or something being stuck in the in the drum and found nothing. Does this washer need a motor or could it be something else?

Hi Gene, it is likely the motor is burned out and needs replacement. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

I replaced the drive and pump belt on my washer. Now the motor pulley squeaks is it possible I tightened the belt too tight?
For model number LAT8204AAE
PartSelect logo
Hi Debra, thank you for reaching out. If your washer's motor pulley squeaks, ensure that you haven't overloaded the machine or gotten items stuck under the agitator. If a belt is too tight, it can add stress to your bearings. The added stress can produce noise. Once you rule those out, you can troubleshoot for dirty or damaged pulleys or a worn-out clutch assembly in the gear case. We hope this helps!

Second time asking - recommended that we check the water pump. Disconnected the belt for the water pump and still had noise. We change belts, bearing and tub seal. Still having whining noise that comes from base of the unit. Possibly the motor or base?
For model number LAT2600AAE
PartSelect logo
Hi Doug, Thank you for your question. Those parts could definitely be part of the issue but I would suggest checking the belt, tub bearing kit, glide and spring kit, and your damper pad kit as well. All of these parts would be physical, so you should be able to see if they have worn down. Good luck with your repair.
