Washing machine lid kept banging shut and rattled when the clothes were being washed.
I was only missing one of the bumpers but that was in pretty poor shape so I replaced them both. It didn't take much to do. Just pressed the bumper into place and Viola! instant gratification.

leaked during fill
Very helpful to have the parts diagram to see how to access the fill tube here on PartsSelect. Removed the two screws holding the front panel on and then undid the two hex head bolts so the lid could be tilted back. The previous repair stories posted here really helped in analyzing what to purchase. Only bought the rubber tube and injector nozzle. The plastic housing looked OK. Undid the hose clamp and out came the rubber tube. A little liquid soap on the outside and slid the tube into the housing, and hooked back the feed line. Ran the fill for a little bit to ensure the leak was gone. Re-installed the screws to attach the top and the front panel. For $20 in parts and shipping, solved the leak and machine is back in business. Thanks really helpful web site.

Wife overloaded our washer and the belt started slipping. We didn't know that was the problem untill we pulled the washer out and looked at the bottom of the machine. There we found the drive belt old, dried out and cracked with burns where the belt was slipping. The slipping belt made it appear
I turned the washer over and slipped off the old belt and then slipped on the new. The motor was spring loaded making the pepair extremely easy requiring no tools.

washer leaked sometimes when filling
First, I read the stories posted on the partselect website which were very helpful.

Then I just repeated the procedure followed by others who had had the same problem, installed the new parts, and the machine was fixed.
Great idea to have this feature on your website.

Groaning / Squeaking Sound From Water Inlet Valve
When the inlet valve closed, after dispensing water, it did so slowly and with a groan or squeak. Same during rinse & spin.

The video was clear on how to get it out from the back and replace with a new unit. Only problem I had was not pushing the outlet hose all the way back down onto the new inlet valve -- it leaked pretty dramatically but was an easy fix.

When pulling the inlet valve, I saw the inlet hoses where starting to slightly leak at their connectors, so I replaced them.

As I had never replaced the belts on this 20+ year old Maytag, I swapped them out at the same time. All I had to do is tilt the washer back and pull off the old belts & replace them in reverse order.

The videos were a great help.

Washing Machine wouldn't agitate
First I removed the front of the washing machine and removed the two bolts that held the top in place. I then replaced the spring. The spring was a little tricky because I had to use a screwdriver to stretch the spring enough to fit.

Burning smell coming from the machine
I watched the YouTube video twice and it was just as easy as in the video. No problems. I ran a couple of test loads and it was back working like a champ. My parents had their belt changed by a repair man and it cot them $150 (pretty reasonable). This whole repair cost only $45 and 15 minutes (including the video watching time!). It pays to do the simple things.

No hot water into the machine tub
Just as the video described.... Unplugged the machine, turned off the water, both hot and cold. Unhooked the hoses (replaced them at this time since they were over 5 years old). Took out the top screw holding the frame piece and removed from machine. Took off the wires and the output hose. Removed the valve ass'y from the frame piece. Matched new to the original and reassembled in reverse order.
