4RF302BXGQ0 Whirlpool Range - Instructions

My husband unscrewed the bad switch and replaced with the new one.

This oven probably was manufactured in the '60s when the house was built. The door doesn't just pull off like the newer models. These pins fit into small holes on the oven hinges. I inserted the pins and lifted the door to a 45 degree angle, before pulling the door completely off. Now that turned out to be the easy part. I then proceeded to completely dismantle the door. It actually has 4 glass layers which had to be cleaned individually. The hardest part of all was actually remembering how to put it back together again. I put the door back on just as I had removed it, then took out the pins, and I was finally done! This was not an easy project, BUT the results look great.

Cut wires removed old plug,new plug in wire nuts on.Put heat on shrink tube done.
Less than 30 min.

removed the heating element then removed the screw that holds the plug in on cut the two wires and reconnect the two wires and put back

removed two screws to faceplate at rear of oven. Disconntected contact wires, installed bake element reconnected contact wires, attached faceplate turned on oven holy hell it works just saved some money on service call thanks!!!

my boyfriend took part of the back off unscrewed a few screws took the old one out and put the new one in. It seemed simple to me I was surprised. I knew the cost would have been more than double the part if I had called an appliance technician to do it. I received the part the next day which I was tatally suprised since it was a Saturday. Our repair was extrodinarily easy. As my husband was taking out the old element and the oven was off, the element heated up and actually burned him. He readjusted it and it refused to heat again. We figured at that point that there must be a short, so we never even opened the box with the new element. A short time later we decided to use the top of the stove for soup and a small fire started in the oven. We turned off the braker at that point and ordered a new oven.

Replaced old parts with new. Elements and drip pans fit perfect and snug. No issues. Would purchase again if needed. Thanks!

use needle nose pliers to disconnect the element from the power supply. After disconnecting it was easy to repair.

Replaced bottom trim included in kit.
Installed side door trim.
While trying to slide glass front in place both plastic side trims broke.
Had to use already broken door trim and glued in. Just hope when use oven glue doesn’t melt and will have to replace entire oven.

Watched the video and did as shown

Unplugged the range. Opened the oven door and took out the shelves. Took the right screw out, but had trouble getting the left one out do to the age of the range. Unhooked the two wires and took the element out. Put the new one in and hooked up the two wires. Attached the two screws and checked to see that the element laid flat and then tighten screws. Closed the door and plugged the range back in and turned the oven on and it worked perfect.

Followed instructions on urine that you provided. Instructions were great.
Only problem had was the screw was hard to get loose on one due to oven usage from previous people but I got it after a bit and then fairly simple from there. Unplugged and plugged new element in. Works although seems to run a bit hotter than before.
