We took our 30 plus year mixer apart. I removed the old grease. There was some crumbly looking grease in the main housing gear section where the nylon gear is located. It looked like it had flour mixed in it. Not certain. Removed as best possible all old grease and applied 6 oz. of new Benalene grease to all of the gears. Now it do ... Original engine had camshaft made of plastic. Engine had a seal leak on shaft lost oil . Result was seized bearing and stripped camshaft. Ordered a replacement camshaft and gasket. Gasket came in a week after original due date and camshaft is NOT AVAILABLE. Didn't know that at original order. Followed up twice with operator, not ema ... Read more il and got a non-answer answer. With WD-40 or equivalent, spray the four nuts on the underside of the snow blower housing that hold the shave plate to the housing. Also spray the two bolts that hold the shave plate to the side of the housing. Let sit for a few minutes and using a 1/2" box end wrench remove the four nuts on the bottom of the housing. If necessary, app ... Read more ly heat with a torch to loosen. Using a 9/16" box end wrench, remove the nuts on the sides (these also hold the adjustable skid feet). It is recommended that the bottom bolts and nuts be replaced with 5/16-18 X 3/4" long zinc plated carriage bolts using zinc plated washers and ny-lock nuts. It is also recommended that all of th screw threads be coated with an anti- seize lubricant so disassembly at a later date will be easy.
