Refrigerator and freezer both stopped cooling
I read prior postings about how the compressor start relay was the most likely failed part based upon the periodic clicking as well as the rattle when the relay was shaken, with loose metal particles coming out of the original part. I ordered the replacement for next business day delivery and it arrived on schedule. The replacement kit comes with two relays for two different compressor designs. The correct relay is an exact replacement for the original, with the same part numbering. I removed the compressor start capacitor (a small black rectangular box with two metal terminals) from the original relay and installed it on the new part. The replacement kit comes with a black plastic cover, which did not fit since the start capacitor is in the way. I reinstalled the wire hook that secures the relay to the compressor body, and the refrigerator now works great.

mid section broke
IT took all of three to five mins after watching you tube video. Three sections to door handle.top annd bottom portions just slide away from center handle.. This will expose four srcews that hold the mids section.. screw out and replace new part and replace four screws. Push the top and bottom covers down and up to get them back in place...zzzz time

Both sides stopped getting cold
I'm a 65 year old widow on a limited SS income, so I needed to get my refrigerator fixed as cheaply as possible. Partselect's troubleshooting guides took me right to the problem. I ordered the part on a Friday and it arrived the next Tuesday. It probably took me a little longer than it would a repairman, but I did it myself with just a screwdriver and a nut driver and it only cost me $45 instead of the $200 plus it costs my daughter to have someone else replace hers two years ago. Always remember to unplug amy electrical device before removing the covers or attempting any repair. All I had to do was remove the lower back cover on the refrigerator and, using the partselect diagram, locate the casing that covered the start relay and the overload switch on the left side of the compressor. I popped the casing off with the screwdriver, pulled the relay off (it's sits on two prongs), and remove the red terminal wire from the relay. Installation of the new relay is the reverse steps of the removal. Thanks, Partselect! I will be doing business with you again if the need ever arises.

refridgerator won't start
true story! ordered the part on sunday by e-mail.by tursday had'nt received it yet.so i called and they had no record of it. so i reordered it on the phone right then. the next day @ noon it came.i had my daughter take a picture of the part on the compressor so that it would be easire to put back together. i had'nt opened the new part yet because i wouldn't be able to retun it if it was opened.i took the old part off the compressor and the new part matched the old part. so i put it on ,it took less than a minute. started the refridgerator and the compressor started running. cooling off just fine and making ice.i am a happy customer!!

Fridge was bought some years back without icemaker
The fridge was prepped for an ice maker but was never installed. After much aggravation of people not filling the ice trays I gave up and installed the ice maker. This is probably the hottest summer on record, and we were going thru a lot of ice. Lost a little real estate in the freezer by the ice maker but it was well worth it. Now I know I have fresh ice for cocktails in the evening!Install was fast and easy. A little longer than usual because I had to run the water line as well.

Refridgerator Not Cooling And Freezer Not Freezing
Took cardboard back panel off and looked at compressor number and found right part number from the compressor start kit. It was somewhat confusing as you have to take that part of existing unit. The run capacitor is different size but worked. Worth the trouble figuring out instructions for parts but is working great right now.
