Unscrewed the two mounting screws that were still attached to the door with the broken plastic.

Knob pulled off and I had been turning it on with pliers

removed the 3 screws holding the front cover on to the timer, unsnapped the timer, unpluged it and plugged in the new one then snapped it back in place. put the front cover back and placed the timer cap back on it works like new now and saved me $140 dollars.
