Don't Spoil Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is full of family, fun and, of course, food! Let the feast live long, by safely storing leftovers in your freezer, refrigerator, and pantry.
Make sure you put the bird in the fridge before you fall into your post-Thanksgiving food slumber. It is recommended that turkey, stuffing, and gravy is refrigerated within two hours of serving. Remember to remove the stuffing from the turkey and refrigerate it separately. Your starchy foods, like potatoes, yams, and most casseroles can last for months in the freezer, but you should only keep them for three to five days if you're putting them in the fridge.
If you weren't able to finish your bottle of wine, you can store an open bottle for three to five days; just remember to put a cork in it! You can also freeze leftover wine and use it later for sauces and stews. We don't recommend putting leftover bread and rolls in the fridge. Freezing bread is a better option, and it can last anywhere from two to three months! For best results, use frozen bread for making toast. You can store your cranberry sauce either in the fridge for around 10 to 14 days, or in the freezer for up to two months.
Our graphic covers turkey, homemade gravy, cranberry sauce, stuffing, potatoes and yams, casserole, pies, wines, and breads! Keep this food storage guide handy, so you don't spoil Thanksgiving!
