PartSelect Number PS446428
Manufacturer Part Number 3204267
This high limit thermostat is used in a dryer and monitors the temperature to make sure it does not exceed 260 degrees Fahrenheit. When your dryer temperature reaches 260 it will cut it out and only comes back when it drops by at least 70 degrees Fahrenheit. If your dryer is overheating, taking too long to dry clothes, or is not producing enough heat, replacing the thermostat could be the solution to your problem. The tools needed for this part are a Phillips screwdriver, putty knife, and needle nose pliers. Refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for installation instructions and guidance.

Dryer cut off before the clothes were dry.
All the symptoms indicated the thermister (located in the exhaust air stream of the dryer) was the problem. Pulled the lower panel off the dryer. Took out the two lower screws holding the door panel on so I could pull the front panel out just enough to get a screwdriver on the screws holding the thermister on. Unhooked the two wires connected to it and hooked them to the new thermister(no need to observe polarity). Put the new thermister in, screwed the door panel back down, put the lower panel on and started drying clothes. Read more...

Dryer was getting very hot
I watched videos so I would know what I was doing. Well No, My thermostat was in the front of the dryer. But after a little blood and sweat, and I am not kidding, I got the front off. I ordered my new part. Finally got it in Spent $40.00 and it still doesn't work. I know it was the right part. I checked all the trouble shooting web site. That was the only thing they said it would be. Friends advice tell me it is the brains of the thing and I need a new one. Well not 2 weeks before Christmas. Thanks for asking. Frigidaire Dryer Cycling Thermostat - 4 Terminal
PartSelect Number PS417453
Manufacturer Part Number 131298300
This operating or cycling thermostat is used in dryers to monitor and direct the temperature inside the dryer. If your thermostat is shorted out and it will not allow the heat to come on, it is best to replace it. The tool needed for this repair is a 1/4 inch nut driver. The first step for this repair is to access the back panel and remove the screws. Next, remove wires connected to the thermostat and remove the screw to pull out the thermostat. Now you can install new thermostat. For further installation instructions, refer to the diagram provided by the manufacturer. As a safety precaution, remember to unplug your appliance from the power source before starting this repair.

squeeking/ grinding really bad
First I pryed up the top cover then opened the access cover on the rear to remove the belt from the drum. Next I removed the front of the dryer to have access to remove the drum. I then removed the 3 screws that hold the drum to the rear drum bearing assembly and pulled the drum through the front of the dryer. I then removed the bearing and proceded to remove the ground ball and reassembled in reverse steps. Read more...
