The latch broke on my dishwasher and one of the rollers went missing
The repair was extremely easy!!!!!!!! All I had to do was unscrew the 6 screws on the inside of the door panel. After that I had to unscrew the 2 screws that attached the latch to the panel. Once they were off I just pulled off the 4 wires from the old latch and slid them back on the corresponding metal "tongs" of the new latch. I attached the latch to the panel with the 2 screws. After that I pushed the panel back onto the door and screwed the 6 screws back in......voila.....all done(-: Read more...

Dishwasher wouldn't turn on - Wash Light Blinking
The "Wash" light on my dishwasher began blinking continuously. I tried to reset it by turning off the power for 5 minutes. No change. I tried the "test" sequence per the dishwasher service booklet. No luck. Knowing it was either the control panel (expensive) or the door latch assembly (cheap), I first tested the door latch. With a multi-meter, I was able to determine that the door latch assembly was not functional. This gave the dishwasher a false signal that the door was always open.
To change door latch assembly:
1: Open dishwasher door and remove all the screws holding the front door faceplate on.
2: Remove the front door faceplate as well as the control panel.
3: Locate and remove the (2) torx screws holding the door latch assembly on.
4: Take note of the placement of the four electrical connectors on the old latch assembly. ( I simply removed them one by one from the old assembly and re-connected with the new one to eliminate confusion)
5. Once electrical connectors are completed, simply reverse the process.

Done! Very happy wife afterwards!

plastic handle broke
First I removed and replaced the gasket around the tub. It didn't require any tools and took about 2 minutes to complete. I didn't really need to replace the gasket but it came with the latch kit so I went ahead and replaced it anyway. Than I removed only the top door panel (6 screws) and supported it while I removed the broken latch (2 Torx screws). I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the wires off the old latch (keeping track of where each wire came from) then plugged the wires onto the new latch and screwed it back to the door. Put the door panel back in place with the 6 screws I had removed earlier and I was done. it all took about 15 minutes and the wife is so glade she is not doing dishes by hand anymore that she left me alone for the rest of the night. My door would not close, so I could not turn on the dishwasher.
It was simple, I do have extended warranty from AHS, but they charge me a trip charge of $55 per repair, and then all parts and labor is covered. But when I checked with Parts Select the parts costed me about $10, so I decided to do it myself.

While I was at it, I also bought other parts and updated my dishwasher with some upgrades.

Good place to buy any parts from, they are very helpful, if you do not know your parts. They even had drawings of my dishwasher, and this actually helped me find what kind of other parts I could buy to upgrade my dishwasher.

Parts select is on my favorites list and pass it on to all my friends.

No one could open the door, but me.
I took out the four screws that hold the front plate on and removed the latch/switch combo. Two screws hold that on, so i removed them and disconnected tthe wires. Put new assembly in place, reconnected the wires and put it all back together. Case, and door, closed. By the way, getting my part from PartSelect was very easy. Read more...

Latch would not close with normal pressure
Shut off power to the unit. Removed the screws located along the inside edge of the door, then lifted up slightly on the entire front panel to loosen it from the slotted guides. Be ready to brace the door as there are still some electrical connections that do not need removal to finish the job. Removed two screws that hold the latch assembly in place, leaving the four electrical leads in place (this takes a special screwdriver but I had an attachment with my socket set). Removed the leads one at a time and immediately placed them on the corresponding posts on the new latch (this was to make sure I got the right lead in the right spot). Once all leads were in place, reattached the latch assembly to the inside of the door. The only tricky part was getting the door lined up with the guides and sliding it back into its seated position. That took two people, but only a few tries and it fit. Put the screws back on, turn power back on. Done. Read more...

This door latch is a manufacturer-approved replacement part for your dishwasher. The door latch keeps your dishwasher closed during the wash cycle. If it is damaged, the door will be difficult to open and close. This is a very easy repair. To complete this repair, remove the faceplate from the dishwasher door, and disconnect the latch from the latch assembly. There may be a screw holding it in place.
