The ice dispenser would only dispense crushed ice, Fridge door cluncked when opening and closing
For the ice dispenser, I read a blog that pointed me right to the solenoid that controls the linkage for the crushed /cubed ice.I first unplugged the fridge. Then removed the ice maker basket. Removed 2 ea screws from each side of the supports of the lower brackets. Then lifted the tray assy off the mounting bracket, moving the front of the bracket down you can then unhook the power/control connector. The tray then comes right out. ICE STRIPPER
PartSelect Number PS2349818
Manufacturer Part Number 5304469378
The ice stripper goes on the front of the ice maker and directs the ice cubes from the maker to the bin. Due to the frigid temperatures, the plastic breaks down and cracks from time to time. This may cause the ice cubes to get stuck in the ice maker and not dispense properly. You will need to open the freezer door, pull out the ice container by lifting and pulling out. Unplug the ice maker by releasing the locking tabs. Use your 1/4-inch nut driver to remove the screws holding the ice maker in place. Take the ice maker out of the freezer for easy access. The ice stripper can be removed by simply unlatching from the pin holding it in place. The new ice stripper should just click into place so the tab goes into the control head with ease.
