This metal OEM-made spring is found in your lawn and garden trimmer. It is attached on the starter pawl bridge and fastened by a starter pawl. This spring provides tension and recoil action, by assisting the recoil starter mechanism and enabling the starter pawl to engage and disengage effectively during engine startup. If you are having trouble starting the engine and the spring shows signs of breaks, stretching, or distortion, it needs to be replaced. Failing to replace the broken spring can render your machine unusable if it cannot start. To remove the spring, you will need a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. Consult your user guide for specific instructions on accessing the spring by detaching the starter cover and the starter pulley assembly. Remember to remove the spark plug before taking out the starter pawl. Unhook the spring from the starter pawl bridge carefully. Please note that this spring is sold individually.
