This is a timer for use in dishwashers. The timer is responsible for ensuring the various parts of the dishwasher cycle activate at the correct time. If the timer is in any way broken or faulty, it will cause your dishwasher to not start, take longer than normal or finish too early, and will need to be replaced as soon as possible. This timer features a mostly metal construction and features a wire terminal on its top side. Replacing this timer will require a few tools, like a screwdriver or socket wrench, and some disassembly of your dishwasher will be necessary. This timer is an individual OEM part, so it does not come with any accessories.

Water would not drain.
The washer ran through a full cycle, but the water didn't drain out. I pulled out the drain vent and checked for foreign objects. Also checked at the drain hose/disposal joint and there was no blockage. After removing the bottom panels I noticed the solenoid was shot. Cylinder was burnt up and stuck solid in the up position. I went online and found that a main cause of this can be from the timer causing the solenoid to over exert and burn out. I decided if I was going to order parts and dig into a repair I should replace both. For the timer it is just a matter of unscrewing the inner door panel and unplugging the old timer. Then inserting new one. Couple of things I ran into were the door is no longer heavy enough to stay down so I grabbed a waffle iron as a weight to hold it down. Also will need to unscrew the set screw on the Door lock latch's bottom side. Pay close attention to how it was together helps. For the solenoid I removed the main screws holding the unit in place as well as the c-clip holding the plastic arm. Undo the spring and plug and the whole unit comes out. Reverse these steps with the new solenoid to install.

Dishwasher timer not working.
Our older dishwasher would get hung up and not proceed to its next wash cycle. I removed the power to the unit took it apart to inspect. I figured it was somthing to do with the timer. I unhooked the power connection to the motor for the timer. I then plugged the unit back in and checked voltage to the timer motor. I had power at the connection. I then plugged the connection back into the timer motor. The timer motor still did not function. I went online looking for parts and found this site www.partselect.com. All the parts needed to make repairs were listed and good pictures showing the parts I needed. The part was recived a couple days later. I installed the new timer plugged the unit it and it works great now. I even purched a couple other parts to make the unit good as new.
