This is a replacement ice maker. This assembly includes the ice mold and the control device. The water inlet valve pumps water into the mold, which stays there until it is frozen solid and ejected into the storage bucket. The process continues until the bucket is full. This replacement part does not include the cover, shut off arm, wire harness, or the mounting hardware. You will need to use the existing pieces, or order those separately. You will need a nut driver to successfully install this part. Unplug your appliance before you begin any repair work.

The icemaker control assembly is located in the freezer section of your refrigerator. It is what controls the icemaker. The control turns the timing cams and the ejector blades. It controls most of the basic parts and functions, such as the heater, the water inlet valve, the cube size, and cube ejection. This replacement includes the control module and the motor, the motor is not sold separately. There are a number of reasons you might need to replace this part: if the motor is faulty, if any of the gears are worn out, or any of the plastic pieces are broken or damaged.
