I replaced the deck on my Craftsman Lawn Mower, and needed a new water nozzle and some screws to hold the front wheel assembly on.

I removed the rear wheels, then I removed the blade, then the motor, then the front wheel assembly. The bolts holding the front wheel assembly were rusted and rounded trying to remove them, so I cut them out with a grinder. Afterwards I removed the remainder of the screw with a pair of pliers. I also removed the Water jet cleanout nozzle, found it was cracked, ordered the part from PartSelect, along with the screws needed to attach the front wheel assembly. I cleaned the remaining parts and re installed them onto the new deck. First, I installed the front wheel assembly, then the motor, then sat the mower upright, installed the blade, then took the rear wheel assembly and aligned it and fastened it to the deck. Last piece was the water nozzle. I placed it in the recess for it, and fastened it with the bolt. Then I tested the mower, and it worked without issue. Seized bearing and spacer on bolt shaft for idler pulley

Unfortunately I couldn’t find the spacer on the Internet, so I ended up going to the hardware store and buying multiple sizes of spacers and bearings to complete the install. I ended up using a steel spacer with shoulder and two bearings. Way overkill, but worth the three dollars. Read more...

This carriage bolt measures 5/16-18 x .75 and fastens two parts in your machine together. It has a round domed head and a square underside so the bolt does not rotate once it has been secured into place. If it has signs of deformation or wear, you will need to replace it. To unthread this bolt, you need an adjustable wrench to loosen the nut found on the end of the bolt. You may need to apply a lubricating oil to the bolt if it is stuck. You may need to clamp down on the head of the bolt with pliers while continuing to turn the nut counterclockwise. You can then slide the carriage bolt out of its hole or tap it gently with a hammer. This bolt is a standalone product and the nut is not included. This bolt was sourced directly from its manufacturer.
