washer would not run

First, I removed the two screws that hold the back-top in place. I removed the top to get to the control timer. I replaced the control timer with a new part and replaced the lid switch (which I broke removing the old one). Put it all back together and still nothing. I removed the two spring U clamps at the top back that hold the entire casing in place. I removed the casing. I checked out the wires leading to the motor and the white wire showed signs of a burn. When touching this wire it broke off. I used a pigtale from the connector to the old wire, soldered it in place and put it all back together AND, WOW, LUCKY ME it has been working since.
The parts I ordered on Monday, came to my house the next day and I did not pay for additonal shipping. I returned the timer and the $ was credited to my account in about one week. Partsselect is about the best experience I have had on the internet. Read more...

washer would'nt cycle

remove two screws that hold down top piece that holds timer. [screws are at each end] pull the top peice foward[ toward front of washer] just about 1 inch,then flip it up so you can see back of timer,pull out black tab that holds timer knob [with the tweesers],remove knob and dial unplug the wiring remove the screw under timer knob raise clip on the side of timer so it will slide toward left side remove timer. reverse instructions to install. washer not cycling or working on all cycles.

On my model You have to first lift the control panel in order to remove timer knob.I removed control panel by prying on the ends of panel one at a time with putty knife and rag to keep from scratching washer. I then use needle nose pliers to pull plastic under side of knob while pulling on knob which is the trickiest part of the job as knob will not come of til it is pulled from underside with needle nose pliers to release it then its easy from that point to disconnect wires and slide timer to the left to unlock it and in stall new timer.You have to take your time doing the repair and it will work out better for you.After replacing timer machine works on all cycles and completes entire cycle. Timer was bad.

I removed 4 screws holding the trim and timer mechanism.There is 1 phillips screw holding the timer to remove,and a plastic piece to pull out from the back of the timer.I easily pulled it off,and the timer fell right off.I removed the wiring harness,and removal was done.Installing the timer was a reversal of the process.Slide the timer in place.install 1 screw,snap wiring harness on.push timer dial on,shroud back in place and 4 screws to put back in. The whole process took me 15 minutes,and is a very simple fix.My wife was thrilled,and I was the hero! Read more...
