This mounting plate is sourced directly from the original manufacturer for use with microwaves. It is a metal plate designed to support a microwave by attaching the microwave to the wall studs. If the mounting plate wears down or becomes damaged, it will cause the microwave to tilt and become unstable, potentially damaging the appliance and the wall it is attached to. Therefore, it is important to replace the plate promptly. First disconnect the microwave from the power source and locate the fasteners that hold the mounting plate. Detach the old plate and align the new one with the existing mounting holes. Secure the plate and check that the microwave is stable and unmoving.

Demo stove exhaust fan and tile backsplash, install over range microwave, rotate exhaust fan and adjust exhaust plenum.

Whirlpool Microwave was purchased as used item, so installation in a new location required purchase of mounting template, wall bracket, mounting hardware. Granite backsplash cut out using wet/dry diamond blade and Ryobi 6.5 inch saw. Microwave exhaust fan removed and rotated for upward exhaust using modified exhaust plenum from existing stove exhaust hood. Installation of Microwave was the simplest part of the job. All mounting materials worked as required. A list of the materials provided in the hardware mount kit would be helpful, I would not have had to order the top mount screws separately if it was clear that they were included in the kit. This is a mounting bracket for a microwave. The part is fitted between your microwave and wall to allows you to secure your appliance safely to the wall studs and install it above your range. It is made entirely of metal and has holes throughout the length of the part so you can choose to put screws where the wall studs are. This ensures perfect installation. The bracket measures 13 inches in diameter. Be sure to have someone help you secure the microwave to the wall. This is a genuine OEM replacement part. Hardware is not included.
