the stove and the thermostat is attached with two wires. After I replaced the thrmostat, the screen panel came on and I was able to open the door. I am posting this to tell people that anyone can do this.

Scratches in Surface
This product comes in a bottle with a brush like Liquid Paper. It goes on incredibly easy. A second coat might be needed. I wanted to prevent rust from setting in so I covered the scratches and dings. The paint is a little brighter since my washer is 10 years old but it still looks great.

oven and broiler not working
I just looked at the tech sheet on the range and tested the gas valve with an ohm meter to see how much resistance I had and compared it to the tech sheet and noticed the gas valve was bad. So I replaced it with a new one from part select which arrived very fast. It was quite easy to replaced it.
