Hello,
my refrigerator displays SY EF, freezer working, but refrigerator not working.
I replaced evaporator motor, temperature sensor, but still displace SY EF error.
Is it the board issue? if yes, which board?
Thank you very much for your help.
Regards,
Jim
For model number EI23BC51IS4
Hi Jim, thank you for getting in touch. This code means the evaporator fan circuit has a problem. Warm air from the refrigerator is drawn out and blown over the evaporator coils by the evaporator fan. Cool air is forced back into the refrigerator compartment after being cooled by the liquid refrigerant in the evaporator coils, which absorbs heat. The refrigerator won’t keep food cold if the evaporator fan is not operating. Check the evaporator fan wire harness connection after unplugging the refrigerator. If the wiring harness plug is loose, reconnect it. Check the evaporator fan wire connections to the electronic control board. Check whether the wire harness connection in the refrigerator is sound. The evaporator fan, part number PS2368080, should be replaced if the wiring connections are sound. You should replace the electronic control board, part number PS3419046, if the issue persists. Please reach out to customer service if you need help placing an order. Glad to be of help!

water leaking out of refrigerator
In my specific appliance the water valve is located in the bottom right hand corner looking at it from the back. To get to it I remove the thin layer of cardboard the covers the back of the fridge. I then proceeded to disconnect the 1/4" copper tubing which is the water feed coming out of the wall. Then I removed the screws that hold the

valve assembly in place. I took the water valve out and removed the electrical connections as well as the plastic tubing which feed the water dispenser and the ice maker. To install the new water valve it was just a matter of reversing steps.
