PartSelect.com Unveils YouTube Channel of How-To Videos for DIY Appliance Repair

PartSelect.com, home of the Instant Repairman and DIY appliance repair resource, officially launches its YouTube Channel featuring how-to videos for some of the most common repairs.

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia — PartSelect.com, the complete online resource for the do-it-yourself repair market and official home of the Instant Repairman, today introduced the PartSelect.com Enhanced YouTube Channel, a comprehensive library of professionally-produced instructional videos for appliance repair featuring PartSelect.com’s in-house appliance expert Steve Ash. The newly-launched channel will help even the most amateur do-it-yourselfer perform money-saving appliance repairs, avoiding costly replacements and/or visits from an appliance technician.

Growing at an impressive pace of 10 to 20 new videos per week, the channel is currently home to more than 300 videos that have quickly garnered over 840,000 views. Covering home appliances from all major North American manufacturers and brands, including GE, Frigidaire, Maytag, and Whirlpool, PartSelect.com’s how-to videos are successfully guiding homeowners and apartment dwellers through a slew of fix-it projects for ovens, stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and more.

“Video instruction has proven to be an excellent way to boost the confidence of a DIYer embarking on an unfamiliar project,” says Steve Ash, Senior Repairman for PartSelect.com. “A consumer can watch the repair before he or she makes a purchase to help decide if they are up for the task. And once the part arrives, they can easily tune in again and replicate what’s being done on screen. Customers have let us know that these videos have been integral to the successful completion of their DIY home appliance repairs.”

PartSelect.com’s how-to videos range in complexity from simple repairs, such as brief explanations on how to replace a refrigerator light bulb, to more ambitious projects, including a 20-minute tutorial on changing the clutch assembly on your washing machine. Other videos help viewers troubleshoot malfunctioning appliances to determine the parts most likely needed to make the fix.

No matter the complexity or duration of the repair, each is simplified by Steve’s real-time demonstration of every step of the process, using parts and appliances identical in make and model to viewers’, while offering helpful hints, tricks and tips along the way.

The company’s enhanced channel is located at www.YouTube.com/PartSelect. It joins PartSelect.com’s arsenal of easy-to-use resources, including the Instant Repairman, appliance manuals, and tens of thousands of user-generated installation instructions.
