PartSelect recently helped Robert of Seattle, WA with this Whirlpool dishwasher repair:
Dishwasher finally would not complete cycle
Symptoms: at first the dishwasher would wash the dishes but not stop at the end of the cycle. After several weeks of using a timer and opening the door during the drying cycle and getting an estimate of $421.78 to fix the machine (we declined) the dishwasher finally would not go thru its whole cycle. I reasoned it must be the Control Assembly and ordered one. to install it I removed the 8 "star" screws in the door, removed the inside of the door, removed the black, plastic cover over the Control Assembly, disconnected all of the connectors to the Control Assembly and the two anchor screws. The Control Assembly then was easily removed. The installation was done in the exact reverse of the tear down. After the door was reassembled the dishwasher has worked correctly for over a week. I saved about $320 by doing the job myself. I hope the machine operates for another ten years.
