May differ in appearance but functions same as original.
This part works with the following brands: GE, Hotpoint & Kenmore.
This part fixes the following symptoms:
I removed the top of the dryer by removing two screws located under the front lip of the dryer over the dryer door. Then I removed the dryer door by removing the screws holding the hinges. I then removed the front panel of the dryer by removing the two screws at the top inside two corners. I the removed the old Dryer Drum Slide. The Drum Bearings were almost completley worn off. I installed the (4) new Drum Bearings (2 Clear or White and 2 brown) the same way they were installed on the old Dryer Drum Slide on the new Dryer Drum Slide. I then installed the Dryer Drum Slide the way I removed the old one. Then I pulled the old Lower Front Drum Seal-Felt and replaced with the new one. Works like new!

After several weeks of my wife and kids complaining about that monster in the other room squeaking and jumping around eating all of their clothes I decided to investigate. I removed the plug in from the socket, pulled the dryer out a few feet and decide to follow the instructions I had come across on my iPad, the videos that were listed on parts select were very helpful to watch as I started the repair job, I removed the bad components as instructed in the video, looked up my part numbers on parts select web site and placed the order. Wow within 2 days my parts had arrived and I was ready to reassemble the dryer. That task was very simple thanks to those videos, I was so surprised at the amount of detail that was given, even looking at the parts assembly diagram was very detailed, the repair was completed in no time, with in 45 minutes the parts were installed and the dryer was plugged back in and ready for a test run ! My wonderful wife and kids were so happy to see that daddy had tamed that monster and the clothes would no longer be eaten by that big white monster, they jumped for joy!!!! Every one was happy once again!!! It was so simple a cave man could do it Thanks to you parts select we saved money on a service call, saved money on the parts, and most important that monster will no longer jump around squeaking and yelping and begging for more clothes hubby says, parts select your the best!!!! Thank you Roger Ozbun

Worn out top bearing plastic part and worn out felt. Removed top part of the front where the dial and buttons are, then the top, then the front where the parts I was replacing were. It was overall easy and didn't require a cdertified repair person. These were parts that were worn out. I am dissapointed in the GE product. It is only 3 1/2 yrs old and already worn out. Poor design and poor quality parts. I will look at other brands next time when replacing the front loading dryer and washer. Overall a faril;y easy repair that most mechnicaaly oreinted person can do. Also thaks to partselct for the diagrams which helped tremendously with meticulous parts.
Removed top - 2 screws. 2 more and the front comes off. I left the wires connected, and leaned the front against the wall. I then popped the drum bearing, with the slides off of the front, and pulled the felt from the lower half. I took some extra time cleaning lint with a shop vac. I then assembled the new parts back onto the front, and pulled the felt into position - it was a little fussy getting it right. The front panel and the top go back, and it`s done. I am glad I ordered the drum bearing, as the felt was worn much more than I would have guessed. This job could probably be done in 15 minutes next time, not including lint clean-up.
The dryer literally ate my clothes!! We took the front cover off the dryer, removed the old parts and snapped in the bearing, felt seal and slides and now it just dries. . . . It doesn't eat anything.
i follow your video and all went well except now the dryer will not heat. i went back on your site an tried the no heat option an still no heat
I replaced drum bearing, dryer drum slide and lower front felt drum seal and everything works like brand new and did not take very long to replace all of this parts very easy job too do your self
removed the front panel. Removed old bearing, felt and slides. Reversed operation. No problem
i read in the forums about what was wrong and ordered the parts--they really need to tell you there are four bearing slides to be replaced-- you have to order singly. other than that - my grandson could repair it and the silence really is goldenMoose
Removed top. Removed 2 screws holding front panel. Swung panel out to access felt and bearing. Pulled out felt and replaced. Pulled of drum bearing and installed new one.Good time to vacume out all the lint.NOTE: Order 4 SLIDE WH with the drum bearing. When you order the bearing it automatically orders you 2 Slides, but all 4 should be replaced.
Remove plug from wall....very important. Removed control panel, removed two screws holding to on from the front door access. Removed the two screws to the front panel, removed front panel. Removed old front bearing and felt. Install new slides into new bearing and installed felt into lower housing. Vacuumed front panel out and reassembled. Worked perfectly. Thanks to Parts Select, was told 3-5 days for delivery and was here in two. 86 dollars compared to 400 dryer. In this economic market...learn to fix it yourself. With the internet and Parts Select it is easy.
Removed top, removed front to expose front of drum. Replaced bearing with new slides and installed new felt. Cleaned out all the old lint from the exaust chute. This was surprisingly full. Everyone should pay attention here as this could lead to a fire.Overall the repair was easy, parts were correct. One note, order 2 each of the slides, I only ordered 1 each and had to reuse one old one and had to make a new one.
First replaced the four drum slides, the lower front felt drum seal and the Drum bearing... Dryer still made LOUD screaching sound.. so I ordered and replaced the Rear drum bearing. And put a new drive belt on it being I had it all apart...Dryer now runs like its brand new.. My Dryer is over 10 years old. Cheaper to fix than replace... As far as Installation goes Was easy...Just watch the repair video or read the other post.. very helpfull...
