Red spring broke - refrig sect. Door closure

I found that I did not have the strength to stretch the new spring enough to install it initially. Using a 1/8 or 5/32 inch allen wrench I removed the pivot for the arm that the spring applies tension to. This allowed the spring to be easily attached to the hole in the arm and to the post in the bottom of the refridgerator. I then used a small pliers to grab the arm in front of its pivot hole and pull it against the spring into position to replace the pivot. Replacing the filter was surprisingly easy. I turned the water supply valve off under the sink and easily unscrewed the old filter (about a quarter turn). I filled the new filter with water and srewed in in. No wrenches required. I turned the water back on under the sink and everything works great!

Water wouldn't come out and wouldn't work

After receiving the parts from you guys, by the way, supper fast shipping, next day, installing them took no more than 10 minutes, put the cover plug it in, and fresh nice water coming out. Next day, the ice tray was full of beautiful ice cubes.

So supper happy that I didn't have to buy a new refrigerator and I was able to fix it for under $300. I hope it can last now at least another 10 years.

Thanks

Ice formed on freezer coils blocking cold air flow to fresh foods section

I removed sheet metal covering coils, held in place with 4 screws. I removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires. Replaced bad heater element with new one in reverse order.

Fridge was warm, built up of ice in freezer

I had a buddy come over that is a bit more mechanically inclined than myself come over to install it. To remove the old part and install the new one was not difficult to do. I could have done it.

I would also suggest to check the Defrost Heater in the Freezer. We replaced both to be sure. So far Fridge working AOK, saved $$$ doing it ourselves.

The lid of the top load washer would not stay open, it flips down.

Insert a screw driver, in the space between the cabinet and the top to release the two latches, then swing the top open to expose the screws holding the lid hinge. Remove the screw of each hinge, and replace the two hinges.

Ice in the door would no longer eject ice; stuck

Problem: The hardened ice crushing blades had worn the shaft causing them to "lay over" and get stuck.

Remove the ice maker drawer. On the bottom remove two phillips screws to take off the front cover.

The interior white insert in the front has two tabs that hold it in place. Releasing this is the hardest part. I used a small straight screwdriver to CAREFULLY pry the sides away from the tabs so that it could be lifted out. This removes the whole ice ejector and auger shaft.

Lift out the shaft, leaving the crusher blades in order.

Slide the new auger shaft into the crusher blades, pop in the back part and reassemble!
