Plastic door latch handle broke

First I removed the 5 screws holding the dishwasher door control panel. Then removed the 2 screws holding the broken latch. Then removed an electrical contact from the broken latch and installed to the new latch one contact at a time. Reassembled all in reverse order to completion.

The latch was not broken

The repair was pretty straightforward. If somebody is attempting, they should make sure that screws close the bottom part of the door should be opened. You only need to open the top 4 screws.

Dishwasher door latch broke, door kept falling down

Door Latch was almost a breeze. Do turn off power. The shock left me know that I was alive. Took 6 screws out. Sat on chair in front so that the panel could lay on my lap. The hard part was pulling the old wires off the old latch. Got it. Installed new latch. Replaced screws. Took about 15 minutes. Springs. Took off front panel, cleaned front panel. Found where springs connected to teflon hooks on door, hoot spring to door and hooked in hole on bottom brace stretching the spring. Did same for other spring. Time: 15 minutes with cleaning.
