Dishwasher latch broken, knob broken on load size switch on washer
For the clothes washer, I removed the back of the control panel, which allowed acces to the broken switch. One screw attached the switch to the chassis, which I removed. I removed 4 electrical wires and a vacuum line from the switch and attached them to the new switch, and installed it. Reinstalled the control panel, after checking function of the new switch.
The dishwasher needed a new door latch, so I removed the screws attaching the face plate assembly from the door. This allowed acces to the broken latch, which was attached with two screws. Removal of the latch and wires was easy, as was installing the new latch in reverse order of disassembly. I replaced the door gasket as it came in the kit, and it's installation was a snap.
Total repair time for both appliances was perhaps one half hour.

The plastic door latch handle broke-off and fell into pieces.
Removed 6 screws, pulled the front cover forward, removed the old door latch, installed the new latch, replaced the screws, DONE! Took about 10 minutes. The new door latch works to open and close the door, and the dishwasher runs fine when the door is closed. However, the new door latch does not lock the door into place like the old one did. I didn't remove the screws and loor latch assembly again, but there must be a difference between the old part or the new part. And I noticed that the old part number and the part number of the replacement part are not the same, although the website indicated that it was the correct part for my model.

Dishwasher door latch was broke.
After receiving my part in a timely manner, I removed the six screws holding the cover on the door. After making sure the appliance was unplugged, I removed the two star screws and removed the broken latch assembly. I disconnected the four electrical wires noting their placement. I connected the wires to the new latch assembly, screwed the assembly to the door, and replaced the cover on the door. That was one of the best quick-fix experiences I have ever had. Thanks PartSelect.com!!!!

The door handle broke apart.
I removed the screws on the inside of the dishwasher door to remove the front facade to get access to the door latch assembly, I think about 6 screws. Then I unscrewed the two hex screws that mounted the latch assembly to the door. I then had to un-hook the electrical wires (4 plugs, 2 on a side) from the assembly. I attached those same plugs to the new door latch, and mounted the assembly back on with the two screws, and tested the door to see if it closed, latched, and if the dish washer would run (since I unhooked and rehooked up the electrical wires). Finally I screwed the front facade back on and was done. It took about 5 minutes. I did get a small shock when I was removing the electrical plugs from the old assembly from touching the metal dish washer door and one of the plugs at same time.

Door latch broken
This was a dishwasher that my employer threw out due to the excessive time it was going to take getting the broken part - all of the appliance stores I contacted had them backordered. Since I'm a DIY and Internet savvy person, I decided to go to the Internet page and use the IPB to determine the correct part, and ordered it. I installed the dishwasher, and waited... 10 days after ordering the part, it came right to my door. Installation was very simple; remove 7 Phillips screws from the front panel to access the latch mechanism, remove the two Torx screws holding the latch assembly, disconnect the wires from the latch assembly, and do the reverse procedure to re-install. No latch alignment was necessary, just screw the assembly right back in place. (Yes, I made sure the power had been disconnected!) The door gasket did not need to be replaced at this time. A very quick and simple procedure for the DIY-type person that can handle simple tools.

Latch handle broke due to age and heat stress on plastic.
The repair was relatively easy and I probably saved enough money as to not have to buy another dishwasher. The part alone was $42. A service call and installation would have made it not cost effective to fix. The control panel is loosened with phillips head screws on the inside of the door. The latch is attached with the "star" shaped screws. I did not own one of these drivers so I had to leave the house to get one. I used pliers to disconncet the clips from their connections as to not pull the wires from the clips.

Our latch had broke and and needed to be replaced.
This repair project was easy enough that my 15 yr old son had it almost all done without me. The hardest part was getting the wires unplugged from the old latch. Once we got the pliers out to help us get a grip, everything went smoothly! This was a quick and easy fix for an older dishwasher that still works!

The latch broke on my dishwasher and one of the rollers went missing
The repair was extremely easy!!!!!!!! All I had to do was unscrew the 6 screws on the inside of the door panel. After that I had to unscrew the 2 screws that attached the latch to the panel. Once they were off I just pulled off the 4 wires from the old latch and slid them back on the corresponding metal "tongs" of the new latch. I attached the latch to the panel with the 2 screws. After that I pushed the panel back onto the door and screwed the 6 screws back in......voila.....all done(-:
