The Overlay Needed To Be Replaced
The main problem was that the part came with no instructions. It was fairly simple but it would have been nice to know which screws to take out as opposed to taking out screws and hoping it would work. I am not sure I did it right so I am reluctant to give any tips but in the end the replacement did the job and the dishwasher is runni

My dishwasher is malfunctioning. The lock button goes on when you select a cycle. It happens no matter what is selected. Can you tell if i should replace the control board or the switch assembly overlay. Thank you
For model number GSB6400NDB0
Hello Bill, Thank you for contacting us. First, I suggest disconnecting the power source from the dishwasher for 2 minutes. If the problem persists, you will need to try to reset the panel. In order to reset the dishwasher the door must be open and not latched. Press the Heated Dry key, then Normal, Heated Dry then Normal within 3 seconds of each other. Hope this helps!

I ordered switch assembly overlay part number listed above. How does it get installed. Please advise. Thank you
For model number PS975977
Hello Steve, thank you for your question. You will first want to disconnect the power to the unit. Then remove the control panel. Be careful removing the old one as you can scratch the panel very easily. You will have to remove the ribbon cable from its' connection to the board and peel the old one off using a knife or blade that will get under the old one. Clean the old sticky stuff off with rubbing alcohol so the new one will lay down flat and stick well. Once the old touch panel is off, be very aware that the new one will stick in the first place it touches and will tear very easily if you try to get it off to re position it. The most difficult part is getting the new one on straight. Take your time, and line the new part up evenly. Be sure the ribbon cable is through the slot before you let it stick. I hope this helps!
