There are probably as many refrigerator models (current and past history) as there are grains of sand on a small beach, so finding "JUST" the right part for any 'used' individual brand and model frig is a challenge. After drilling down through various options for our 18-year old GE frig (which had a top freezer rack that NEVER was the right fit from Day #1), I found this prospective replacement shelf and ordered it. It was delivered promptly, nicely bubble-wrapped, and after a quick hot water & soap rinsing to mitigate any possible 'bumps in the night', I installed it in our frig....and VIOLA !! It seems to be a good replacement. It has more 'finger' things to grip the plastic shelf 'runners' on each side of the freezer and it slid right into place. It could have maybe a 3/8" inch wider main rod to fit in the pin registry hole 'perfectly', but it's holding up food okay in the freezer and I'm satisfied with the quality overall. The upper shelve in the freezer keeps falling down. The repairman who was fixing another problem said that it’s because the interior expands over time and i should get some clips to extend the shelf. The current shelf is 12” and the distance between the two ledges it should rest on is slightly wider. Do you sell clips that extend the shelf or a wider shelf?

Like doug and judy, i am finding the top freezer shelf does not fit well and falls down.The response to doug suggested that rack spacers, part number wb4x174, can be ordered to fix this issue.
on the parts select website, the page for wb4x174 shows that that part is for a microwave.
is it adaptable to the top freezer shelf?

I have had this model for a good many years and this smaller top freezer shelf (smaller than the others) just falls down if i put anything on it. I can’t remember it actually breaking but something is missing to hold it in place. I just want to be sure that i’m getting the correct one for my model. Should i take a photo of it? Or just buy it?
