Earlier I asked the following question: "I have a Samsung electric front load dryer. Previously it was blowing cold air, so I replaced the entire heating unit; however, shortly afterward, it began indicating the HE code after each load and the clothes were abnormally hot. I replaced both the thermostat and the thermister without any success. Does anyone have any insight into how to solve this problem?" The response was that it was the heating element or the wiring, which is confusing to me. The heating element is new and once it was replaced the dryer went from blowing cold air, to working properly for a few days, to showing the HE code and the clothes were too hot.Clearly I'm not an authority, but can someone help me understand why this would be a heating element issue? Also, what is the number for the proper wiring harness?

Hi Greg, Thank you for the question. It is a possibility the wiring or element are defective or not installed properly. The element could be giving off to much heat. If they test good with the meter you can also test the High limit thermostat on the element housing, Part Number: PS4205217 and the Thermal Fuse on the housing, PartSelect Number PS4205212. The main wire harness for this model number is PartSelect Number PS9606017. Hope this helps!

Hello Greg,
Thanks for your question. The heating element or the wiring to the heating element are the most likely causes of your problem. You may wish to test the element with a multimeter for continuity and replace it if it shows no continuity, and check the wiring.
I hope this helps.
