Is this oven supposed to directly vent up through this part 257 and out from the bottom of the control panel? This is a new range for us and we have noticed how hot the bottom middle of the control panel and back of the griddle gets. Concerned about gas venting and excessive heat in this area. Are we missing anything parts wise or baffles for the vent, or is this normal? Thanks, william c.

Hello William, thank you for your question. The purpose of the vent in any range is to allow some of the heat to escape and allow air flow around the inside of the oven cavity when cooking. There have been instances of people indicating the control panel gets quite hot, but this is the normal function of the unit. I hope this helps!
