After access to the tube, the replacement took less than 10 minutes not including watching about 3 youtube videos on how to actually do the replacement prior. Oven burner was burned out, wouldn't light
Pull plug and shut off gas! The lower oven burner is held in with two rear and one front screws. I removed the top floor of the oven (two hand tightened screws at the back), the bottom drawer, and the front door (just lift it off the hinges). This allowed me to access the burner, and I removed it by unscrewing the three screws, unhitching

I connected the new igniter on the new burner before installing it in the oven, and found that the connector did not match (I was warned about this possibility on the PartSelect site), but instead of splicing the wires together, I cut off the connector on the new igniter and replaced it with the connector of the old igniter. Then I screwed the burner into the oven, recoupled the connector, replaced the floor, drawer, and door, and I was done! It took about 45 minutes.

On Thankgiving Day with company coming and the turkey in the oven, my kenmore stove decided to act up. The oven burner started to smell awful and start carboning up due to improper burning at the burner tube. We then abandoned our attempts to roast the turkey in the oven for that day.
After removing the bake tube and ignitor assembly the following day for a close inspection which involved removal of the bottom pan, racks etc. and disconnecting the ignitor / tube assembly by unscrewing the sheet-metal screws holding them in place, I discovered that the ignitor had burned a hole in the bake tube which could not be seen

This caused the air / propane ratio to dramaticly change causing the oven to have a strong odor, start to carbon up the bake tube and effect the temperatures and cook time and the possibility of monoxide fumes effecting the chef. While baking we noticed oven was restarting alot. We would hear a big wooooof quite often while cooking now it only heats to 270 f.Would a ignitor and gas burner tube assy resolve this? thanks

Hello Steve, thank you for your question. It sounds like the issue is either the sensor, or the oven igniter. If the igniter starts to fail, it will take longer to heat, and have to relight quite often. We would recommend testing the sensor and igniter first. I hope this helps!

Each time the oven ignites there is the sound of a small explosion. I think it is louder than it used to be. Does the igniter need to be replaced?

Hi Te, thank you for your question. It sounds like you may need to. You can test the part first with a multi meter to be sure. The igniter should be reading between 0 - 1100 ohms to be working correctly. You may also just want to check your regulator and safety valve as well. Good luck with your repair.

What is the difference between an igniter glow bar and a flat style oven igniter? Is one for the lower oven and the other used to ignite the upper broiler?

When oven is turned on, and while it's preheating, now and then after a few minutes, it will go "boom". Doesn't happen all the time. So I'm thinking that I may need to remove the bottom oven panel and clean/vacuum the bottom/gas tube and ignitor. Could there be something else causing the problem?
