The handle on the microwave door was cracked

1) I removed the door from the microware by sliding it off the hinge pins
2) I took the knife & gently pried off the internal cover around the door window. This gave me access to the handle mounting screws.
3) Phillips head screw driver to remove & replace the screws. Make sure the handle is in the proper orientation. There is a top & bottom to the handle.
4)do not overtighten the screws.
5)Replace the cover. It pops back into place easily
6)Return the door to the hinge pins. Bottom one first the the top one.

Replace a broken handle

You do not need to remove the door from the microwave. I used a putty knife to gently pop off the interior plastic frame surrounding the door glass. By working the putty knife along the outer edge and gently rotating it outward the plastic frame easily unseated. With the plastic frame removed it was simple to remove the two phillips head screws that held on the broken handle and then reuse them to install the new handle. The plastic frame was easily reinstalled and snapped back into place with light pressure.

Microwave handle broke on the bottom

I checked a out a couple videos on youtube to be sure, but it really is as easy as others have described. I used a flathead screwdriver to pry the interior plastic casing (choke) away from the metal doorframe. I only did the top, bottom, and side with the handle, to expose the screws. It was a bit of a pain since he choke kept pressing on my hands as I was unscrewing the interior screws to the handle. I'm sure I could have propped it open with something if I was more patient. Once that was done, I put the new handle on using the same screws, pressed the choke back on, which snapped into place easily. My husband was impressed later when he saw the new handle.
