Icemaker stopped making ice

First thought it might've been a problem with the inlet valve assembly but it wasn't. Took the factory unit out of the refrigerator and from testing found out one of the wires (black) was busted so splice a new wire in and motor started working but the "arm" would only rotate to a certain point and stop. I then discovered a broken tab inside the motor housing so at the point I just ordered a brand new icemaker unit. When I got it, I just mounted it to the base plate then slid it into the tracks in the refrigerator. The spout where the water comes out was the only tricky part but it is flexible so you just have to push it away and put it back into the tray when the whole unit is inserted. Once inserted, connect the power to the refrigerator, lock the wire cover to the base plate and you should be fine. The new unit started working right away. Whole process took 5 minutes.

Ice maker would not kick out ice, but pump worked

I unpluged unit empty top shelf took out 4 screws
holding ice maker slid it forward unplug harness
found out that the wheel inside ice maker was not
lined up with the letter T on the front of wheel, that would put the fingers in the upright position. so it will work.

Icemaker not making ice

If you can turn a screwdriver you can replace this thing. After 10 minutes the new icemaker was installed, and 5 hours later I was enjoying a cocktail with my newly made ice.

My Ice Maker would stop making ice and the start back. Finally it quit for good and would not work any longer. The repair was as easy as everone indicated and I am sure that I saved more than half of the cost of calling a repairman. Is used a 1/4 socket and a small ratched. Took less than 15 minutes to completely change out the unit. Thanks for being on the internet. Super cost for the complet unit.

Icemaker not working

Our 2nd Ice-maker since 2003. They don't last forever.
Intact, the Ice-maker takes 15 minutes to swap out. Broken, we wait for a replacement. Ordered extra Fill Cup. Not needed. Different Part broken this time! Latest Ice-maker has an extended Fill Cup so as not to Freeze up when refilling. Nice!

When Trays lose their lining or Unit Freezes up, time to replace it! The Ice-maker should last longer. Maybe we expect too much. We like our ice!

Icemaker stopped making ice

We removed the old icemaker, that was the easy part. It only has one bolt holding it in place. The tricky part was installing the new one. The replacement icemaker was a little different than the original, but it fit and works great. Simple connect the wires insert the icemaker, screw the bolt in place and viola. The shipping was so much faster than I had expected. My first order was received broken but they immediately sent a replacement and I got it the next day. It was hassle free and our first time replacing the icemaker went smoothly.

Quit making ice

The first maker I received was broken. The funnel at the top that directs the water into the tray was broken. I called PartSelect and told them how I had received the part and there was no problem. They shipped me a new part, and it must have been the same day as I got the replacement two days later. I was very satisfied with that quick response. I removed one screw and the cover to the wiring harness. Slid the icemaker forward and unplugged the wiring. Then removed the icemaker. I had to remove the old bracket from the assembly as the new maker did not come with one. Installed three screws in bottom of bracket then reinstalled the assembly and plugged the wiring back in. The whole process took about 10 to 12 minutes, very easy.

Stopped making ice cubes.

Basically, we unscrewed the holding tray and disconnected the water supply and slid the old unit out.We then reversed procedure installing the new unit and poured some water into resevoir and waited till the ice was frozen and then reheated by the bottom section whiched allowed the tynes to cut and dump the cubes. we had previously bought and installed the motor for the old unit but after a day with no action, we brought that unit back to Sears and we ordered the whole replacement unit from PartsSelect. The part came within 3 days and we very happy with the results.

Ice maker quit making ice

I wanted to make sure I ordered the correct icemaker, so I turned off the water to the icemaker, and turned off the icemaker switch. One screw taken out for the harness protector and the entire unit became loose, and I worked it out of the holding slot and used a really small screwdriver to separate the plug. Once the size was accurately determined, a new unit was ordered. The new unit arrived two days later and the procedure reversed itself. Twenty minutes later "I have ice" Been working well ever since

Ice maker was not making ice

Removed the plastic service door, exposing the ice maker. Pulled the ice maker and the plastic tray it is attached to out of the freezer. Then unplugged the electrical connectioppn, which alllowed me to remove the ice maker and the plastic tray. I then used a 1/4" driver to remove 3 screws holding the ice maker to the tray and one screw that held a plastic cover over the electrical connection. Installation was everything in reverse of removal. Take care to install the water hose into the ice maker. Ice maker started working immediately.
