Icemaker quit making ice
After troubleshooting to determine that I needed the Icemaker assembly, I ordered the parts early on a tuesday and they arrived the next day. Quick. Opened the box and there was no packing material, just the icemaker in the box with a slip of paper instructions with one sentence on it. Said to remove ice shield from old icemaker and install on new one. To remove the old icemaker, I first had to removing the one screw on the bottom that secured the cover over the wiring harness. Next I removed the cover by sliding it towards back of freezer section and guiding around wires. Next I depressed up on two spring clips on the bottom of the icemaker to release it from the tracks and slide the icemaker out. Be careful with the hose for the water outlet. You may have to tip it backwards to get it to clear. Once out of the tracks, I disconnected the wiring harness and removed old icemaker. I reversed the process to stall the new one after I had removed the three screws and the ice shield off the old icemaker and installed on the new one. After installation, it took about 10 minutes for the sound of water running into the trays and we had ice 30 minutes later. Worked fine and hasn't missed a beat yet.

Icemaker died, had to replace the whole unit.
I just followed the instructions that other people had posted on your site. That informations was extrememly helpful and was part of the reason I chose Parts Select. That and the fact that you had multiple pictures of the icemaker which meant I knew I was ordering the right part. You are the best product/info site I have experienced to date. THANK YOU!

Stuck icemaker
Researched the problem online regarding a stuck icemaker. Found an online video demonstrating how to troubleshoot the problem. From there, I disassembled the icemaker and discovered the icecube tray to be worn (teflon coating flaking). Also, I discovered other parts that appeared to be damaged. I found the individual parts on PartSelect however, PartSelect suggested the entire Icemaker (was cheaper than the individual parts). I purchased the item from PartSelect on Saturday and the parts arrived Tuesday (fast service). I then proceeded to to reverse install the icemaker by transfering items that were not included in the unit, attaching it with three screews, sliding the unit in place, attaching the power cable, attaching the power cable cover, and re-attaching the icemaker cover one the refrigerator. Total time to install was lees than 5 minutes. I now can enjoy ice chilled drinks.

Replaced icemaker
Actually I watched the video provided on the website and read 3-4 other users installation instructions. This made the repair extremely easy to do, although my refrigerator was a side by side and the icemaker was mounted across the top instead of the sides it was still very easy to change out with the instructions provided. Part price and delivery was excellent. I will use Parts Select again.

Refrigerator ice maker stopped making ice
I googled Whirlpool Replacement Parts and your site was listed in the search. I looked at your site and found over 29 people had the same issue. I read their reports and advice and went immediately and removed the ice maker. It was simple just having to use a nutdriver to remove three nuts. I looked up the replacement product on your site, ordered it and within two days I had the part. I replaced the new ice maker in less than 5 minutes and ice was being produced within a couple of hours and within 24 hours the bin was full and all was well. Great site and quick service. Thanks.

Ice maker quit working
Removed 3 screws from under icemaker and slid unit forward until I could disconnect plug on right side, which was the most difficult step of the process, and pulled icsmaker out. Reversed the procedure with new unit, had a little difficulity with the rubber spout for the water fill, and in a while I had ice again. Thanks to the info on your site I was able to verify that the valve solenoid was working properly so it saved me a step. A word of caution-the icemaker plug has 120vac so unplug refrigerator before repair attempt.
