Fill tube was a surprise

Found several videos on YouTube that showed how easy this is to remove and replace. They were all very accurate except they forgot to mention that the water fill tube is in the way when you try to slide the mechanism out of the refrigerator. Don't be afraid to bend the tube for both removal and replacement.

Ice maker had been overfilling and making icicles, then it quit makimg ice completely.

This site parts were almost exact duplicates for the original. No modifications were necessary. I watched the videos...and thank you parts select for having those! I am somewhat a bull in a china shop when it comes to working on items, as I have a heavy construction background, so sometimes I tend to get frustrated with plastic type parts and ending up breaking them. The videos showed exactly how to do it, so that prevented any frustration. After watching the videos, I replaced the ice maker, then replaced the inlet water valve. It was easy. While you have the cardboard back off the rear to the fridge, pull the bottom grill off the front and use a brush and vacuum cleaner or air compressor, if you happen to have one, to clean the coils. It was easy. I saved about $250 doing this myself. THANK YOU ! Regards, Jim

Icemaker stopped making ice after leaking for a while

Replacement icemaker has a higher funnel into which the water flows from the top-mounted water tube. This seems to help eliminate the splashing/leaking problem. It is a bit more difficult to install the icemaker because of this taller funnel, but gently bending the rubber water tube while sliding the assembly in on the tracks worked fine. Be careful with the water tube or you can dislodge it. Otherwise the new icemaker went in quickly and was making ice by the end of the day. Simple install.

Original icemaker quit working

1) unplug old ice maker and slide out of holding brackets, 2) Remove plastic tray bracket by removing 4 screws, 3) attach plastic bracket to replacement with 3 of the screws, 4) plug in electrical connector, 5) slide new unit into brackets, 6) place plastic door back on in front of ice maker, 7) slide ice control switch to "on" position. That's all it takes!

Ice maker not working, not making ice

Take the safety door off, remove safety panel on the right back corner with small socket wrench. Slide out the ice maker, disconnect the power connection. Turn the old ice maker over, remove the bottom housing which has 4 screws. Mount the old housing on the new ice maker, slide the power cord through the old power strip slot. Connect the power cord to the refrigerator, slide the new ice maker back in place, reconnect the safety bracket on the right back corner and replace the safety door. Shut the door and wait a few hours and BOOM ice!

Icemaker quit working

Removed 3 screws but was unable to remove without removing another screw for better access to disconnect wiring harness. Then had to really almost force unit out of the holder. Quoted price was $177. If I ordered by 3:00pm the next day would be shipped just as promtly. The only thing is the next morning when I called the price was $201. because of manufacturers price increases. I was billed $201 plus shipping even though they had the item in stock and had received it at the old price. Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today.

Ice maker would not kick out ice, but pump worked

I unpluged unit empty top shelf took out 4 screws
holding ice maker slid it forward unplug harness
found out that the wheel inside ice maker was not
lined up with the letter T on the front of wheel, that would put the fingers in the upright position. so it will work.

Stopped making ice

Turn power off to Ice Maker. First I had to remove the Ice Maker Door by removing the two 1/4" screws.
I then removed the 1/4" screw under the Ice Maker on the right hand side that holds the wire cover in place. The cover can be removed by pulling toward the rear at a angle. Now you can slide the Ice Maker forward until it out and only connected by the wire harness which can now be unplugged
The bottom plate on the old Ice Maker will need to be removed and installed on the new one.
Now just work in reverse.
