Fast delivery! Easy to install and works fine so far.
slide old ice maker out, unplug, plug new ice maker in, slide in place
I disassembled original ice maker to find a short between the motor housing and the tray heater. Easiest to replace full assembly. Ordered new part, and after it arrived...Removed front ice maker door and rear power wire cover. Slide out ice maker and removed the reusable parts and installed on new assembly. Installed new ice maker in reverse. Ice maker immediately filled with water but never went into harvest mode. I figured the optics board was bad, but it wasn't. I removed the transmitter and receiver, and let them warm to room temperature and reinstalled after cleaning optics with cotton swab. The ice maker started working like a charm.
I unbolted the old ice maker, pulled it out, unplugged it and then I put in the new one...it was exactly the same. I had ice coming out within 30 minutes!
we ordered the complete ice maker assembly, since we were unsure as to which part was broken. It was extremely easy to replace and our ice maker is perfect!!! The price was very reasonable. This is a great company!!
Removed defective icemaker. Used nutdriver to remove screws. Pull ou old unit. Disassemble old unit to use required parts to attach to the new unit. Slide in new unit but encountered problem with the fill funnel height. This was different than the original unit. I had to bend up the rubber fill spout in order to slide in the icemaker. This took several attempts because there is not much clearance. Installed screw and icemaker was back in action.
Unsrewed 6 screws, pulled out old icemaker, unplugged the connecting wiring and pluged in new icemaker and slid it back into the mountings. Re installed the 6 screws and closed the door, within 3 hours we had ice again. Very easy!
This model uses light sensors to control the icemaker. After determining that the light and sensors operate correctly, the problem is either the icemaker module or the valve. After 6 years there was visible corrosion on the blades, so I selected the entire assembly for about $40 more. The new unt fit perfectly. Wait a while 2-4 hours to see if it works, it is not right away.
Easily remove and replaced with new one. Do this yourself if you have ice maker problem don't call for service.
The replacement was an almost exact match, except for the plastic sidewall that needed a hole in it for the water supply shoot. Just removed a couple screws, and reattached the old one. A wire harness and three screws later, and we were making ice.
First tested the water control valve on back to make sure water was getting to the ice maker. Then, replaced ice maker. Old Ice maker was easy to remove and new one was just as easy to install. Simply slide out the ice maker diconnect at the wire connector, connect new ice maker and slide back in. Turn on ice maker and began producing ice.
First I cut the icemaker off. Then I removed the screw to the wire cover, next the two screws to the icemaker door, pushed in the retainer clips on the bottom of unit, pulled the unit forward, disconnected the wire harness.Remove the bottom of old unit, attach it to new unit . Plug in the wire harness , push the unit in re-assemble wire cover, ice maker door. Turn ice maker on.Less then 2 min. it filled with water. Droped ice about 1 hr. later. That was sweet music to my ears.Has been making ice every day. I'm glad I orderd the icemaker from Part Select, I waited 5 months for a repairman to get back to repair the unit. Wasnt that difficult to replace. Peace of cake.
Disconnected power supply and removed back screw which released ice maker from freezer. Removed bottom plate from old ice maker held in place by three additional screws, attached to new ice maker and re-installed. Very simple replacement and I would order again from PartSelect.
