Water would not drain
Pulled out the dishwasher. And the copper supply line was kinked while pulling it out. Had replaced it with a new flexible 10 foot line, leaving enough room to leave it hooked up when pulled out of cabinet. Layed dishwasher on left side. Used screwdriver and pliers to remove hoses and 2 screws. Removed pump and installed new pump. Pushed it back into cabinet, making sure not to kink hoses as it's pushed into cabinet

Dishwasher didn't drain and made a loud buzzing sound during the discharge cycle
1. I unplugged the unit from the electrical outlet, shut off the water supply and disconnected the drain line from the garbage disposal. 2. I removed the bottom access panels, unfastened the DW from the counter top and slid it out as far as it would go without straining the hookups. 3. I removed the racks, lower sprayer and filter components from the well and bailed as much water as I could with a plastic cup. 4.After placing an old bath towel underneath I disconnected the water supply hose at the DW and pulled the drain line and electric supply line through the cabinet wall and then removed the DW to the garage where I set it upside down on some old towels until it finished draining. 5. I located the drain pump, compared it with the replacement part and took a picture with my phone to record the correct orientation of the drain hose connection. 6. After disconnecting the power supply and drain hose from the drain pump I removed and replaced it with the new one and reconnected the power supply and drain hose. 7. After inspecting the DW for signs of other problems and finding none I righted the DW and returned it to the install point. 8. I drilled a new hole in the cabinet wall near the top because the previous installer failed to provide a means for the discharge siphoning to occur; that's probably what led to premature failure of the pump. 9. I fed the discharge hose through the new upper access hole and the power supply through it's old access hole and then reconnected the water supply at the DW. 10. Being careful not pinch, kink or stress any of the hookups I slid the DW back into it's nook and reconnected the drain hose to the garbage disposal and plugged in the power supply. 11. I turned the water supply back on and, with a flashlight, checked for any leaks under the DW. Seeing none I reinstalled the cabinet mounting screws, replaced the filter components and lower spray arm then ran the DW on the short wash cycle to test the fix. 12. Once the test was complete and everything worked correctly I checked the DW for level, made a minor adjustment accordingly, then reinstalled the racks and lower access panels. JOB DONE!

Dishwasher would not drain even though the pump made a humming noise
I turned off the power and the water then I pulled it out into the floor I used a pair of pliers to remove the hoses and disconnected the wires from the pump then I just reversed my steps i will add that the pump on mine was located low to the floor and it was a bit difficult to get the new pump on until I use a small pan to sit one side of it on to raise it up off the floor and then it was no problem getting the pump on . I’m 66 year old female and if I can do it so can you .Good Luck to all you self repair folks.

Drain pump failing
1.Removed slide out dishes baskets, removed inside plastic food screen (just to clean) and disconnected electrical plug and hot water connection under the sink. 2. Unscrewed dishwasher retaining screws from kitchen counter top and slid dishwasher out (very easy). 3. Flipped dishwasher on its front. 4. Unhooked the 2 drain hoses and electrical connectors from the old drain pump, unscrewed it (torx screws) from the drain pump retainer bracket and replaced it with the new drain pump. 5. Cleaned the water jet pump (got all the accumulated crud out from the "impellers") and reinserted it in the dish washer. 5. Turned the dishwasher upright and reattached the hot water hose (using plumbers tape) and the electrical plug. 6. Finished pushing the dishwasher back under the counter, reattached the retaining screws to the counter top, turned it on and basked in the quietness of the dishwasher.

Dishwasher not draining
Remove lower front face by removing 2 screws. Turn power off at the breaker. Disconnect the power by removing the power cover screw and cover. This is located on the bottom right of the unit, next undo the wire nuts, and pull out the wires. Next turn off the water supply to the dishwasher. Then using an adjustable wrench disconnect the water line. Be careful it could bend. Once the power and water is removed gently slide out the unit. The pump is located on the right side under the dishwasher. Remove the to screws holding the pump in place. Unless the repair is done outside place a drain pan under the pump to catch any left over water. Next using needle nose pliers squeeze the clamp closest to the drain and pull the hose off. Pull out the pump, squeeze the second clamp, and remove the hose from the pump. Place hose on new pump and the work backwards installing the pump.

Dishwasher would not drain
replaced the motor after fixing the impeller once before. seems to be a weakness in this model based on what I've read here. The motor does not fail it's the little impeller inside the housing that comes apart. One word of advice: use a wet/dry shop vac to extract the standing water from the dishwasher.

For model number FDB1050RECO

Hello Maureen, thank you for inquiring. This can be caused by phosphate-free dishwasher detergent, or by using too much detergent. You may also want to consider replacing the Lower Spray Arm, part number PS1524955 for your model. Good luck with your repair!

Water pumps out but water comes back in
For model number FDB 105 o r e c o

Hi Victor, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the float and the float switch to see if they are stuck in the open position. If so the water can fill back into the tub after draining.Hope this helps!

Once the wash cycle is started the is no water entering the washer. What could be the cause?
For model number FDB1050REM2
PartSelect logo
Hi Tim, Thank you for your question. If your dishwasher will not fill with water, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. We recommend checking the water inlet valve, the float, the float switch and the door switch. We have included a link from our website that you may reference on how to check these parts. Once you have determined the part you need, please call customer service. We look forward to hearing from you!
