Is the "pcb assembly main" the main circuit board, or mother board, for the machine? Our machine is cutting out on the final spin cycle and must be unplugged to clear and reset the cycle. After the unit has cooled down, the machine can be plugged in again and sometimes the cycle will go to completion; if not, the machine must be unplugged again to reset it. We were told by a repairman that the "mother board" was the cause of the problem, but he wanted almost $1k to repair the machine! If the problem is caused by a defective mother board, is replacing it a job that a homeowner can do?

Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the PCB Main is your mother board. Generally it is not too difficult to do an installation like this. It just takes patience and attention to detail. What I would suggest is, before you remove your old board, take pictures of how it is installed inside of the machine and how it is installed to the other parts. Take especially good pictures of what wires plug in to what sections on the board. I think that you could do an installation like this if you are confident. I hope this helps. Is part, "pcb main assembly" a replacement for an earlier version that was found to be defective or prone to malfunction?

I have a 2012 and believe the PCB may be the issue. It was stuck with 24 min left and nothing would work, power button and unplugging. I went to plug it back in and now the screen stays dark. I hit the power button and can hear it trying to send power but nothing happens. Also accompanied with it is that electronic smell coming from the back top right corner when looking at it. Would a new board be the fix?
