When I turn the appliance on the fan turns on but the compressor hums for about two seconds and then turns off. This will happen about every 30 seconds. Would this be a capacitor problem?
For model number FAS184M2A1
Hi Tim,
Thank you for the great question! The capacitors are used to kick-start the compressor so it does sound like there is an issue there. When a capacitor fails, the motor it is connected to will still try to come on. The stalling can cause the motor to burn out. Part number PS735472 (5304427210) is the correct part for the model number FAS184M2A1.
Good luck with this repair!
