This part fixes the following symptoms:
After sitting in a cold refrigerator for year after year, plastic becomes brittle and breaks. This is what started happening to my shelves and door bins. The problem a lot of times is getting the right part since some of the parts do not have numbers. This website gives a accurate description and best of all photos on an inch grid, so I can measure what I have and find what I need. This time everything was perfect and fit easily. took no time and just like that I have almost double the space again. Funny how that works. Once before I didn't get the right piece so just pay attention to the dimensions.

I turned the cap for the old filter and pulled it out . Then I put in the new one in and turned the cap to secure it in frig.
I removed the top shelf in the fridge. I then unscrewed the cover to the water filter and pulled the filter cartridge down into the cover. Keep the cover upright as there may be some water in it. I carried it to the sink. I took the new cartridge and ran water through it from the sink, then set it in the cover and took it to the fridge. I pushed the cartridge up into the space that I removed the old one from and screwed the cover back on. Then I took an empty pitcher and filled it from the water dispenser in the fridge door. I did this three times to charge the filter and remove charcoal dust. Water tastes great now. I ordered two filters so I would ony have to buy once a year. Great site to order the filters from. Cheaper than other sources and delivery was quick.
It was really easy. All you have to do is twist the old filter out, stick in the new one and twist!
I removed the filter casing containing the casing, removed the filter and replaced it with the new filter and screwed the casing in place tightening with the wrench.. It took less than 5 minutes and was the easiest replacement Ive ever done.
To simple to explain. I was very happy with my parts and prompt service,,
Removed, the drip panRemoved the screws holding the ice/water dispenser in place.Pulled up on the ice/water dispenser to remove it from the door.Removed the screws for the broken actuator (noting the location of the spring) and removed the actuator.Reinstalled the new actuator making sure the spring is in the proper location.Replaced all screws in reverse order.
I didn't know where to go to get the filter, so I went to Parts Select.com, they had the filter in stock. I placed the order and when I received the part (in about 4 days) I was able to get it put in & working in about 15 minutes. The water from the dispensor & the ice cubes taste a lot better. Now that I know where to get parts I won't wait that long to change out the water filter.
I had to replace this unit after a repair by the local appliance repairman. The thermostat/ damper control failed and the refrigerator section of a side by side froze up.As far as installing this unit it goes as follows.1.) You may want to turn off the water supply to the unit just as a safety.2.) Remove the two screws holding the unit to the back of the refrigerator.3.) Disconnect the two lines noting which one goes where. A simple pulling of the hose connection sleeve ( pull toward the hose ) will release the hose's4.) Reverse the process and turn the water back on. Check for any leaks and re-attach to the back wall.
The untwisted the water filter took out the old water filter and replaced it with the new one and twisted the cover back on. it was very easy to do and now the water tastes very fresh :) thank you
I removed the cover from the handle by sliding the top one up and the bottom one down (as opposed to snapping it off). Then I removed the screws that held the old handle in place, put the new one in place and screwed it down.
First I took both bolts off of the housing (holds filter) and removed two hoses by holding elbow vavle in while pulling hoses. Did the reverse to replace. The trick was knowing how to remove the elbow valves. Second there was still water leaking under the fridge, discovered it was the water inlet valve underneath. Ordered that part.
Removed the ice box and used a long screw driver to remove thhe two screws holding the motor, unplugged the motor and replaced it with the new one. A fairly easdy job that took 20 min.
My hand turned the water filter casing around until it unscrewed and then I put in the new water filter.Screwed the casing tight and I was finished.
First I removed the cover for the filter.(long nut driver) then the two screws holding the filter housing, held the retaining plungers in, and removed the filter housing. Then reversed the process and put it all back together. Simple.
