Question:

My freezer freezes up when my fridge is turned up to cold. However fridge doesn't feel cold enough unless turned up higher setting. Fan runs in freezer. Freezer stays cold. Could this be thermostat problem?

Answer:

Hi Michelle, Thank you for your inquiry. In a situation where your fridge is too warm and the freezer freezes when the temperature control is set to cold, you may need to either replace the defrost timer, the evaporator fan motor kit or the defrost thermostat. To verify which part is causing the issue you will need a multimeter to check the continuity of the parts. I hope this helps with your repair. Thank you and have a great day!

Refrigerator would not run but interior light was on.

I unplugged the refrigerator, then opened the door and removed four screws holding the plastic electrical panel to the interior top of the main refrigerator compartment and noticed the cold control was corroded badly, apparently from moisture in the panel. I ordered a new one from partselect.com. When it arrived the next day, I then pulled off the control knob, unclipped the cold control, unplugged the three wires to the control, then removed the styrofoam insulation blocks holding the thermocouple wire and then removed the thermocouple wire to complete the removal. I then reversed the process to install the new thermostat and control. That is repositioned the thermocouple wire, put the insulation blocks back to hold the wire, then replugged the three electrical wires, clipped the control back and pushed the control knob back on and finally screwed the panel back to the top of the main compartment and plugged the refrigerator electrical cord back in to provide current to the refrigerator. It immediately started up and ran fine. Total time - about 8 minutes.

Top freezer working properly, but lower fridge not cooling.

since I had my fridge since 2003 it seems that I've gotten my moneys worth but it has worked flawlessly with no issues. I did not want to part with it so I troubled shoot the system and realized that it could have been number of things so I just decided after reading some reviews here on this site I decided to just purchase the items that would be effecting the fridge not working properly which was the evaporator fan, defrost thermostat, defrost timer, temperature cold control thermostat, I also cleaned the condenser coils in the back of the unit so they can be able to withdraw heat from the unit. my repair and installation took about 4 hours due to the cleaning of the coils but now the fridge is working like brand new. thanks to this sitt and it's comprehensive video tutorials on installations and repair it my job a lot easier to do.this is not my first time ordering from this site and will not be my last. anyone considering ordering from this site do not hesitate there are great with parts and customer service.
