I used a small screwdriver to pry the tabs of the front glass panel loose, and then slid it upward and out of the broken storage drawer. Then I slid the panel into the front slots of the new drawer and pushed in an evenly downward manner until it snapped in place. It was an easy task and now we have a new drawer that slides smoothly.
First of all, I both called and e-mailed PartSelect, to praise them for my overall experience. It's a 17+ year-old refrigerator, they had the parts in stock, I ordered them, and received them the next day; less than 24 hours later. WOW! The install was a bit tricky, just trying to get the old drawer fronts removed, to put onto the new drawers. I was careful to not manhandle them too much, so as not to break them. They were just kind of gunked up with debris, from the many years of use. I used the screwdriver blade to gently pry the drawer front loose, from the old drawer. Once loose, the reinstall was really quite simple. Thanx!
Got the new drawers, removed the drawer fronts from the old drawers, slid the fronts onto the new drawers and installed them. Why did we wait years to fix this simple problem?
The old drawer front needed to be carefully pried off with a plastic bladed screwdriver. The front simply slides onto the new drawer and is tapped into place with a rubber mallet. Most impressive was the literally one-day standard (not overnight) delivery!
First removed the drawers and replaced the old drawers with the new by removing the glass fronts from the old and inserting them on the new, then removed the cover storage pan and removed the rollers from the old with a screwdriver and installed them on the new cover storage pan. Next i removed the inner door panel on the refrigerator side, using a phillips screwdriver, then I installed the old door gasket on the new door panel and installed the new panel on the door.
removed good old clear plastic drawer fronts by prying loose with a screwdriver at the bottom of drawer.and sliding out upwards. placed old fronts on new drawers by sliding downward and snaping in place. removed old support guide using a nut driver and installed new one.removed both crisper drawer cover supports prying out with a screwdriver.pushed broken post of these supports back into the refrigirator wall with a flat punch.installed new supports and pushed locking post in with my punch and hammer. installed new cover storage pan.put in new drawers top and bottom with glass.about a 20-30 minute job.
Took the front panel off the old drawer and put it on the new drawer.couldn't have been easier, even an old lady (like me) can do it with no problem.
I removed the old drawer. Next I popped off the drawer front and threw away the rest. The drawer front then snapped neatly onto the new storage drawer. I then slid the newly assembled drawer into place.
The repair was simply a matter of disassembling the parts like when cleaning the frige and putting them back together. I was so pleased to find the web site for parts. Thank you. Rae in Easton, WA
Use small srew driver to take door off and put back on just like the video you supplied on line.
Removed old drawer. Removed front face of drawer and installed on new drawer. Put new drawer in refridgerator.
My husband just dislodged the front of the old drawer and very carefully slipped it into the new drawer. Presto all fixed. Very easy. So happy with the new drawer that is so easy to slide open. We had taped the old one for quite a few years. Wish I would have thought of looking up this web-site earlier! Thank you so much for this new drawer!!
First we took the the old drawer out and pride off the front clear covering on both sides. Then we placed the front covering on the new drawer and fit it in place. This had to be done twice since it did not take the first time. It had come loose after a couple of days and we snaped it back into place. It has done fine since.
removed the drawer, pried off the glass front, slid the glass front into the new drawer, and returned the drawer to its place in the referigerator. The schematic drawings on the PartSelect website were really helpful.
