Freezer stopped freezing food.
I unplugged electrical cord to the freezer. I removed the cover to the relay and load protector. I labeled the wires and made a diagram on the proper placement of each wire going to the relay. Freezer started tripping the gfi outlet its plugged into last night. I measured resistance across the prongs and ground and found 10-14 ohms hot to neutral and open to the ground pin. If this part is bad, would it cause the gfi to trip by sending the current down the ground wire, or does it just open like a fuse? Also, what other part may cause the troubles I'm seeing.
For model number FU161LRW6
Hi David, Thank you for the question. I would suggest replacing the Overload. The ohms should be 4.7 and most likely the cause of the gfi tripping. Hope this helps!
