Can a thermal breaker with a reset button reset itself. This is part 318004900 on a wall oven. The oven heats for an hour or so then stops , wait 10 min. And it can be restarted. Control board has been repaired
PartSelect logo
Hello Brian, Thank you for your question. If the thermal breaking is defective, it is possible that it can reset itself accidentally. As for the oven not heating consistently, it is also likely to be the temperature sensor or thermostat in the oven that's faulty as well. We hope this helps!

The baking elements on the lower and upper oven does not work. I don't believe its the baking elements since it happened at the same time. I was wondering if this part could cause this problem and if so, how do i access the part. Thanks!

Hi Jerome, Thank you for your inquiry. Some parts that you may have to check to see what is causing the issue are the bake element, the oven control thermostat, the temperature sensor and the electronic control board. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

The lower oven heating element shorted out on our stove. It completely broke into two pieces severing the electrical current thru the element. I ordered a new element and replaced that. Now our oven does not come to temp. The lower element gets warm but not hot. I had the oven running for over an hour and it maybe got 275 degrees. I did some further checking and saw there is a thermal fuse for the oven. I checked for continuity on this and did not get any. Could this be the problem, could it have shorted out as well? If so, would the oven not heat up at all if the fuse blew (i get some heat)? What else may be the problem to check? The stove top burners work fine and all the functions of the control panel appear to be working as normal.

Hello Andrew, Thank you for the question. Normally a blown fuse woudl not allow the appliance to power on. I suggest testing the sensor,PartSelect Number: PS820208. Testing the temperature sensor probe on your oven is easy. With the sensor at room temperature, measure the resistance between the two prongs at the end of the sensor connector. The resistance of the sensor should read approximately 1080 – 1090 ohms at room temperature. Hope this helps!

My wall oven worked fine yesterday, and then it quit doing anything. The electronic controls do not light up at all, no sound when I press any button, clock does not light up, so of course there is no way to turn anything on. We have checked the circuit breaker and flipped it with no effect.
